so a 10.48 100 meter time equates to a 4.58 40 time? I've seen ginn reported at 10.4 to 10.5. Yet Ginn ran a 4.38-4.45. Tell me how there can be such a dramatic difference?

Stanback must be the football equivalent of a Lincoln Continental. Not flashy off the line but good top-end speed once he hits that 6'2" stride. :)

I understand we drafted Carp in the 1st round, however, it doesn't mean he has to start within a year or two. On top of that, it should not mean he isn't a good football player.

We don't have to start him within a year or two because there are players right now that out performs him at this stage of his career. Lets look at the linebacker position. Bradie, Ware, Ellis, Burnett ... and the list goes on. We're stacked.

But do not doubt his playing ability, he is good. Look at him in the Seattle game, the dude was all over the field. So relax guys, we're winning football games, the change is not needed yet. - Hong

I'm not disagreeing with anything you said at all. But, maybe that means we should have drafted something else besides a LB.

Who in the next 10-15 picks would be starting had we picked them?

Parcells should be shot for that dumb pick! :bang2:

A. Spencer is going to be beast, you can see the promise when he's on the field but with Carpenter I don't see it...

I'd take Addai.

(And yes, it is funny how the legendary Cromartie only began starting in the middle of his second year despite SD having less-than-stellar corners.)

Carpenter might have been the best player on defense during the playoff game last year. That showed me a load of promise, its a shame that he hasnt been able to deliver that this year. Im not ready to give up on him.

Yeah, he's probably the only one that'd be starting, though even that's not certain given the team's strange allegiance to Julius starting. And the Addai we're seeing is really quite the surprise. He just wasn't this good at LSU.

Totally agree. I remember all the stories that they wanted Maroney, and more backs went before them than they expected. They got pretty lucky that Addai is this good.

But I hate the retro-draft game anyway, because you can always find "mistakes". I thought Carp was a good pick at the time -- maybe he'll still do something.

A reporter today asked him why, when we use so many personnel packages with so many players on defense, has Bobby not been able to get on the field?

Wade said it was basically a combination of Bobby playing poorly in the last preseason game along with Bradie James playing so well. Wade admitted that coaches aren't always right, and said maybe they put too much weight on that one preseason game. But he got a chance there and he didn't show much. He also said he didn't know Bradie would be such a good player until he saw him in action, but that Bradie needs to be on the field for us.

Wade did say that it was nothing against Bobby, because he's a good guy and a good athlete, and he works hard. Wade also said he'd get a chance to show what he could do this game.

Dam, Wade tells it like it is and doesnt sugar coat it.

He basically said Bobby doesnt play because Bobby sucks.

Addai is who I would have said also. If we didn't like who was there, we should have traded down.

Thats I how read it.

He said Bobby didnt show him anything with his poor performance.

Translation: You are not on the field because you suck.

Is that perception correct, I dont know. Wade said himself sometimes coaches are wrong and Bobby will get a chance this weekend.

Translation: Bobby can thank the Bears for his "second chance game" and he has an opportunity to show the coaches that they are wrong and that he doesnt suck. Will Bobby take advantage of the situation?
