Wade was supposed to fix the D!!!

Is that through 6 games or is that through the entire season. Statistically, large numbers should decrease when the sample size increases. For example New Englands huge game against us wont skew our stats.

Also, you can't expect a coach to fix something 6 games into it. If they do, it probably isn't a long term answer: see saints.

2007 24th 232 YPG 10 INT 15 Sacks
2007 1.667 INT per game
2007 2.5 sacks per game

2006 24th 219 YPG 18 INT 34 Sacks
2006 1.125 INT per game
2006 2.125 Sacks per game

I disagree with a couple things you are saying. First, the Cowboys were playing good defense the first half of the year last year as I recall. It was only the last half that the team fell apart.

I also disagree that a coach can't fix a teams defense in 6 games. Look at the Giants who were horrible last year. They changed defensive coaches and it took a two games to fix their defense. Last year the Skins had the 2nd worst defense in the league and this year we are the 3rd best in the league. Now we didn't changed D coordinators, but we did alter the scheme. However if you go back to 2003 we had a horrible defense under Spurrier and Edwards. When Gregg Williams became the D coordinator in 2004 we were a good defense from day 1 and ended up being the 2nd best in the league.

Np possible way for the Giants or Skins D to fall apart huh?

Thank you Nostradamus.

BTW, we stuck a 45 on that D.

Once again, the only people who agree with Edunce is the fans of rival teams.

We are 6 games into the 2007 season, and our pass defense is statistically worse than last year.

2007 24th 232 YPG 10 INT 15 Sacks
2006 24th 219 YPG 18 INT 34 Sacks

Last year's D actually played better.

Maybe it wasn't Zimmer's fault.

What a joke. The 2006 stats of INT and Sacks are total for 16 games and you are trying to compare those against 6 games.

Two problems here:

1) One can hardly deem the Giant's defense fixed after a four games of quality play. The sampling size simply isn't large enough. Thus far, the Giants defense has excelled against 3 sputtering offenses and an inconsistent Jason Campbell.

2) The Skins' defense has been relatively since Gregg Williams' arrival.

No kidding. Why is it that everyone is saying the Giants D is so good? Because they beat the helpless Winston Justice and Joey Harrington? If it were us, people would be saying "OMG the only time they played a good QB they gave up 45!!!"

I find it amazing that a lot of you guys were screaming for Bill/Zimmer to leave, but his stats are just as good as Wade/Stewart.

2007 24th 232 YPG 10 INT 15 Sacks - Wade/Stewart
2007 1.667 INT per game
2007 2.5 sacks per game

2006 24th 219 YPG 18 INT 34 Sacks - Zimmer
2006 1.125 INT per game
2006 2.125 Sacks per game

I'm not hearing the same thing for Stewart.

Stewart is not doing a good job.

The general lack of football knowledge. The inability to recognize coverages. The inability to grade talent. It all makes sense now.

edunce = zimmer

Tell me about it!

Can you imagine what certain media members are going to write when Tavaris Jackson inevitably completes one or two passes of over 15 yards?

That's nearly 50% increase in sacks and 30% increase in INTs. How could anyone not look at that and think something is better -- MUCH better?

I take it you are using a 6 game sampling for your stats so with that in mind...

Answer these questions...if you dare.

These are real simple questions. A yes or no answer will suffice.

1. Was a Healthy Newman starting those six games last year?
2. Is a healthy Newman starting this year?

3. Was a healthy Henry starting those six games last year?
4. Is a healthy Henry starting this year?

5. Was a healthy Ferguson starting those six games last year?
6. Is a healthy Ferguson starting this year?

7. Was a healthy Greg Ellis starting those six games last year opposite Ware?
8. Is a starting Greg Ellis starting this year?

It is ok...we all know the answers.

Stewart has had six games--hardly a large enough sampling. I supported Zimmer for years. It wasn't until he demonstrated over several seasons that he had no idea how to design or execute an effective blitz that my support for him wavered.

Someone who suffers from understanding remedial math may have that problem.
