That wasn't exactly him having the guy squared up and popping him in the chest as wastedfluid described.

I'd love to see the 5 examples.

Just out of curiousity.. does anyone else get annoyed with Ken Hamlin's tackling? I don't ever see anyone point it out but Hamlin had way more missed tackles than Roy this past season. Not trying to excuse Roy by any means, just curious.

He had the guy where he wanted him and lowered his shoulder and tried to superman him like he used to and the TE bounced off of him and ran for about 30 or 40 more yards.

yes but hamlin also made plays. that was the thing about Roy, i could live with him messing up as long as he made up for it by making plays(3rd down stops/picks/big hits causing incompletions)

It still remains that the TE was not "squared up" in front of Roy. The TE was several yards away from Roy... Roy made the mistake of thinking he could dive and knock the guy off balance rather than wrapping his arms around the guy's legs. It wasn't as if Roy unloaded straight into the TE's chest and the guy just ran over Roy and kept going.... that was the initial description of the types of missed tackles Roy committed.
