I love sports, if the stakes and level of competition are high enough I could watch ping pong.

When talking about soccer, you have to put things into perspective, it is not the same thing to watch Mexico-Haiti or an MLS match to watching a champions cup final between Barcelona and Manchester United. It is like comparing the arena league to the NFL, it seems like you are watching an entirely different sport.

And watching your country play live in the world cup is like nothing you could ever experience in sports. It is hard to explain. Yes, goals are hard to come by, that is why I will never forget each of the goals Mexico has scored in the world cup when I was in the stadium, just a breathtaking experience.

Having said all that, the NFL kicks soccer's behind. By a mile.

I watched the MLB All Star game the other day, first game ive tried to watch this season. Jesus, fell asleep about 4 times.

My list would be:

1. NFL
2. Boxing
3. Poker
4. Girls Volleyball
5. Hot Dog Eating Contest

I understand... except the only reason soccer fans in here are trying to defend a sport they like is because others in here are claiming it has no legitimacy.

I think it's because we're used to seeing big hits, intense highlight reels, and epic 1on1 confrontations (such as a pitcher vs hitter), that a game of high endurance and endless running around for the sake of 1 or 2 goals isn't worth seeing.

Now I'm not discounting soccer because of that, it definitely takes a super athlete to play, just a different type of work and style than everyone is used to seeing.
 
NASCAR is the last thing that should be laughing at another sport.
