I really liked what I saw of him. They were able to bring him down with a couple of arm tackles, but dang he can juke his way through a crowd. He also looked good as a receiver.

I look forward to seeing him with the starters. A lot of talent out there can create space and opportunities for Deuce!

Deuce looked like a high school player size wise. But knows how to run the rock. He was running behind the line and popping out of nowhere the defense had a hard time tracking him…

You have to think of Vaughn as a completely different species of running back.

He will look like a hopeless child on one play, but make 5 defenders look like hopeless children on the next play.

His stature will be a handicap one play, but a huge bonus the next.
Feast or famine mode , I think you are right. Against units geared to stop the run he will find it difficult to get going , but he has good vision and spin off capabilities so if he makes one guy misses then it will be a flash before he down the field for 20 .

I know it's just a preseason game and that he played against the scrubs of the scrubs, but Vaughn's play was so much more electrical than the other backs. I would love to see them move him up in the pecking order so we can see what he can do against better competition. In fact, I'd flip the roles for this next game. Davis and Dowdle got the early carries and Vaughn and Luepke the late ones. Let's change it up because we just don't know what we've got at the spot. Nothing is settled other than Pollard.
Absolutely. He was electric....and made a good bit of what he got on his own in the ground game. Had that really nice catch as well.

exactly right. He made a living that way at KSU. He broke records, made Bama look silly. Some plays he will get easily handled, others he might take it the distance in a wink. Then again, wasn't Barry Sander like that? Just sayin. They are similar. Barry had much more power I think in his trunk area, base. Huge thighs for a little dude. But they do play similar.
Agreed, but...Try explaining the Deuce/Barry similarities to @Diehardblues . Good luck. lol

He has good vision and has shake n bake in his game that works well with his size.

RB by Committee. Pollard Vaughn either Davis or Dowdle . I think it’s in this teams interest to have a fresh back every series .

So much on these forums made of duece looking confused in pass pro.

Well he's logged in pass protection once and had a 73 pass blocking grade.

Rico in pass protection once for 74.6

Hunter at 79.7

With the scrubs behind Pollard, he needs to be on the 53.
He will be. Lots of resistance about that because of his size. But he's not a small back. He's just short. I think the dude has a great career.
