Bobby Slowick Texans OC as next HC and have him hire Texans QB coach Jerrod Johnson as OC . Johnson played the position and also coached under O’Connell in Minnesota .

Listen to me (lol) ....the next HC Jerry hires will have a strong relationship with him and/or Stephen OR a strong recommendation from someone they trust IMO.
Translation - a retread

Dallas front office and fans crave mediocrity.

Jerry needs to get off the old coaches hiring merry go round and get young innovative minds into the building to revamp the franchise . His son needs to talk sense into him .

Yeah, right why would he committ career hari kiri by hitching his wagon to Jerry Jones' Star? :lmao:
He'll have better and more lucrative options elsewhere.
What better options? The Panthers? The Jets? Let’s remember most teams who need coaches suck and have bad front offices…

Dallas has become Cleveland. A once dominant franchise that the younger generations have not ever seen when they were great.

And because of that I’m not sure top talent will be standing in line to work for Dallas at least until this is fixed.
When was Cleveland dominant? The 60s?

I think you are overestimating Jerry Jones’ desire to win without a puppet coach. Makes it harder to claim 100% attribution for success to the front office (him). I don’t see Johnson desiring a puppet role for the Cowboys.
He seems more puppet than someone like Jimmy Johnson.

He's hiring anyone who he doesn't know ..............unlike most owners, they could care less cuz it's the GM's job to know who he's hiring.

TO did that and it seemed to work.........
Good *** point lol. Jerry doesn’t hold grudges.
Stefanski was as good of a HC candidate as Johnson is now...
Great point.

Dallas is not the attractive destination you think it is.
It may be the best available. Jags, Jets, Raiders, Browns…let’s remember most teams who need a head coach more than likely have a bad front office and roster…

He doesn’t strike me as a guy who needs control in the front office though he will be the biggest name out there so he will have leverage….he sure put a lot out there….screen passes to tackles….sheesh.
I like this thought. But, remember who runs the show, but I would really like him as the next coach, he is young, innovative and probably really hungry for a head coach job.

It looked like some seriously petty stuff to me.

You certainly wouldn’t want to embarrass your next prospective employer. But that’s exactly what he was trying to do.

I’d say that rules out a Dallas interview.
It did. Insulting they showed no remorse they felt we were why the lost last year. Trash.

That being said…this team doesn’t strike me as not to not hire someone because they embarrassed them.

He makes too much sense. He put his name in the hat last year and withdrew his name…actually going into a game with an innovative mind will be fun for once.

People will dismiss us thinking there are better options but I’m looking around…who the he’ll wants to coach Aaron Rodger’s or Deshaun?

Browns won 4 NFL titles with their last one being in 1964. Dallas won its last title 32 years later which is now 29 seasons ago. Effectively the Cowboys are almost as irrelevant as the Browns were when Dallas won their last title.

Actually, that's not fair to the Browns. They did go to multiple AFC championship games in the 80's.

I'm with you on this, I would be giddy if he were the next head coach. Then, find another young defensive coordinator with new ideas, because these old bastids have over stayed their time. The team needs to get into the 21st Century, not stay in the old NFL ways that don't work anymore.

Damn the 60s was a long time ago. At least last time we won we had Walkman’s and high top fades lol.

The difference is that all other teams have a chance of changing their GMs and FO staff. There is almost 3 decades worth of proof where our Leadership stands. Johnson didn't take a a HC job last season over questions over ownership and chose to stay with Detroit, so why would he choose to join a well established circus? He will have his pick of vacancies and it's doubtful Dallas is near the top of his choices.
