I wasn't able to watch the game all the way through, I'll try tonight.

Was he really as bad as I'm hearing? Right now Bob and Dan on the Ticket are ripping him, been hearing callers rip him. I didn't realize he was getting killed that badly...man, what a waste...

Can someone explain to me what he did (or didn't do)? Was it the same typical stuff - not taking on blocks, being out of position, etc...

How in the world he played well that playoff game in Seattle is beyond me.

This was his worst game of the season for sure.

Hes been decent in coverage but last night he had opportunities to make tackles that your average joe linebacker should make and he was just not physical at all.

You would think a guy with his size and speed would be more physical but we might as well have another corner in his spot.

Not anything new we haven’t already seen from him. Just Barbie being Barbie.

Regardless, the way Brooking is playing...he needs to be playing all 3 downs.

I have a feeling Jason Williams will be the Nickel LB by mid-season...bank on it

Someone needs to drop some viking pictures off at his locker.

Nordic runes or something.

80's heavy metal?

Someone, please!

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head, look for jason williams to take over on pass defense about 10th or 12th game, taking it away from carpenter.

Yes, he's terrible. If a top shelf ILB is there when we're picking next year, it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick one up.

I like Bobby as a person but as a player he is terrible. He was absolutely horrible last night.

It sucks that Hodge got hurt. This would've been a perfect role for him.

Maybe Jason Williams can step up. Im pretty sure he'll offer more as a blitzer from the get go.

He is slow to move to the play, and even when the play comes right at him he doesn't make it. I agree with CATCH17, he is one of the least physical LBs I have ever seen. He is hesitant and timid and that's not a good combination for a pro football player.

He made one really embarassing play where he whiffed on a tackle by a couple of yards. Other than that, I did not see him mess up.

But the embarassing play was really obvious, so people are going to act like he made that play every single down. As far as I noticed, it was just once.

I have no love for Bobbie Carpenter, but it is clear for me that he is a favored whipping boy, so the negatives will always be focused on.

Wasn't it reported last week that he should resume practicing soon?

It really wasn't that terrible, and on that last drive he gave a geniune smart play effort to tackle the ball carrier while keeping him in bounds, which is very difficult to do.

As our first round pick, we should let him get a season of starting under his belt before we throw him away. It just would be foolish to not.

he played mediocre football last night but since the jury is out on him the scrutiny is intense.

He's a serviceable albeit unspectacular pro to this point, certainly not living up to first round status however.

He didn't play mediocre. He played fine. Except one bad play. And everyone is jumping on that.

It's like the Crayton drop in the NYG playoff game. No matter what Crayton does, butt hurt fans will ***** about every little mistake because they can't get past the done drop in the NYG. So they carry vendettas and whine about the guy.

So it is with Bobby. People are butthurt that he was a first round pick. So no matter what he does, butthurt fans will complain about the mistakes.

Again, Bobby made a couple plays. Nothing spectacular, nothing good. Just made some plays. But he made one atrocious and glaringly obvious horrible play, and people are mostly reacting to just that.
