you go for it with your offense or you punt the ball in that situation leaning to punting the ball and winning the field position battle. it felt like a panic move by Garrett

Kickers bounce around the league. 31 years old is prime. Some kick into their 40s. Welcome to the NFL. You're desperate.

Forbath's been wanted in the league every year. He didn't have to spend years in the CFL like the inferior Maher.

So we got a guy more accurate and at a higher level. That means you lose.

I bet you wish you never tried to respond to me in the first place when you thought you had a point.

You are thinking about KO's. Punts go to the 20.

some kickers not all kickers and NFL goes through a lot of kickers according to you....NFL went through forbath....he had his run, he got replaced by a 5th round rookie with no NFL experience..... and warren moon came from CFL too....kurt warner was bagging groceries during preseason until he got called to NFL..... this he was a CFL kicker thing is not going so well as you keep hammering on it as if beause he kicked in the CFL, somehow he doesn't deserve to be in the NFL.

and so how many kickers go well into their 40s.....lets put some numbers relative to the field so we get a better understanding.

and again, he may be 5% more accurate over a 7 year span of his career in NFL, but last couple of years....what did he do? or do we account for his high school years too? its like saying Peyton Manning was great at 38, because over his 16 year career his stats are better...if that's all you are hanging you hat on...then you are very limited in your understanding of football in general.... pay attention and learn.......

and you are so hung up on proving your point on switching a kicker midway through the year and trying not to lose an argument than actually seeing its a stupid argument to begin with...

and to be honest, I am little bored until the game tonight, so dragging this thing along and making you look like the village idiot that you have become is somewhat entertaining....

You're saying that it was worse than a 50/50 chance? Tell me that's not what you're saying.

While Forbath was in the NFL for 6 years, Maher was in the CFL because nobody wanted him.

There are many kickers in the league today 31 years old and older. This is a laughably idiotic take. I feel bad for you.

Stupid would be choosing a guy who isn't as accurate in the CFL as someone in the NFL.

Oh, and in his last two years Forbath is just under 84%. Maher in his last two years, one being in the LOL, I mean CFL, is at 81%.

Your corner should throw in the towel at this point.

It was a bad decision. Only try those at the very end of the half or when behind late in games.

And that's where JG doesn't get it. It's still a low percentage kick.

Offhand, I'd say a 58 yd FG try is worse than 50/50. Guess someone will look at the stat now?

It's somewhere around 50% and could be under 50.

The commonly available stats only show 50+ and several teams were under 50% in that stat for the season.

The stats are skewed because coaches only try it with kickers they think have a chance to make it.

The chance of randomly selecting 1 of 32 NFL kickers to make a 58 yard field goal probably is below 50%.

With Maher the probability seems the same on short or long kicks. He kicks some long ones right down the middle but misses some short ones.

I think on punts it may be the 20, only kickoffs come out to 25.

I saw it in a game not too long ago. They changed the rules for KO's because so many players were getting hurt. Got rid of the wedge, moved the KO spot up, and changed the spot to the 25 on out of the end zone stuff.

Punts, however, had no such change because there was no reason. Players were not trying to return punts they caught in the end zone. So, no change. Goes to the 20.

warren moon was in the CFL because nobody wanted him. warner was played in the indoor league because nobody wanted him. the rest is history...so your argument that he was in CFL and nobody wanted him thus he is worse than any other FL player doesn't hold one drop of water....you completely have ignored these undisputed FACTS given it makes you look like a 2 year old trying to argue.....

second, Forbath wasn't wanted by 31 teams in the league and got cut by his own team for a rookie 5th round pick.... and he didn't sign anywhere until desperate Jags picked him up...so even though he was available, no team signed him until they became desperate...undisputed FACT... and according to your life time stats...only 12 other active kickers are more accurate than him...and yet undisputed FACT, he wasn't signed.....until Jags got desparate.....so that argument you are trying to make doesn't hold one drop of water...unless you are claiming to be smarter than 32 GMs and 32 head coaches and 32 kicking coaches in the league?

and maher wwas accurate about 80% in the CFL, so not sure where you inaccuracy issues stem from since you keep bringing up CFL as your SOLE excuse for signing forbath..... Maher is about as accurate in the NFL and has been very accurate 50+ kicks which is what attracted us to him..

forbath was about 80% accurate his last two years in the league....

you should consider suicide...maybe a better alternative to the arse whooping you are taking

What is more of a mistake is playing Zeke in the Colts game in a blowout and Beasley playing with an ankle injury in a meaningless game that clearly affected him in the first playoff game...

yes, low percentage. but at that moment you have to make a call. in flow of the game...your defense playing well, close score, need to take achance, calculated chance....

and again, last year he was criticized often for being conservative.....

Copy that, on yer' vectored view,Dandy-D5-2 ,,,yet, just honestly asked yerself this simple question,,, out of all the COWBOYS football you've watched this season,,,could you conclude that out the vast majority of times the opponent had 1st&10 on their own 48 yard line, it was shut down most rickytick, resulting in zero points awarded?

Hey, guys. Check it out. Brett Maher is like Warren Moon.

Forbath was just shy of 84% the last two years. Maher 81% with one of those years being in the CFL.

You literally have nothing to point at in their entire careers to show he's a better kicker. You're just a scolded fan boy who can't stand that I had an answer for your dumb question.

    I'm done with you.

and Dan Bailey was perfect until he started missing. Forbath 80.0% and Maher 80.6% I don't see the big deal about Forbath he has done nothing better. As for where Marah kicked for in the past? who cares that has no bearing on anything.
