Another thing I'd like to bring up about McCarthy, my hate-boner has been raging today and I need to try and soothe it.
The big selling point for McCarthy is that he's a "championship coach". He's won the Big Game, he knows how to do it, he'll show the Cowboys how. That's just a load of crap.
Between 2009-16, the Packers made 8 straight playoff appearances. They turned that into 3 NFC Championships and 1 Super Bowl appearance (which they did win).
Peyton Manning (who is the greatest quarterback in NFL history, and I will never hear any different) made the playoffs 9 straight years from 2002-2009, made 5 AFC championships, and went to 2 Super Bowls - and he got the reputation as a big-game choker. Unfairly, I might add. But his playoff record smokes the McCarthy Packers.
Heck, Andy Reid had a 9 year run with McNabb where he went to 5 conference championships and 1 Super Bowl, and he had the "choker" monkey on his back for 20 years. Yet McCarthy gets a pass for having a far inferior record.
That's what McCarthy is. He's not a championship coach, he's a mediocrity who struggles when his HOF QB faces a quality team that he can't outgun alone and Big Mike needs to step up as a coach. He's not a champion, he is a sub-choker level disaster.
