The Cowboys could ask themselves did they waste their years having Romo as quarterback....
You said he couldn't limit his mistakes 2-3 games in the playoffs. I said sure he can and he did in back to back playoff games in 2014.No. He didn't.
Wait... he did what? He didn't make it anywhere near NFC title game. Sorry, Charlie.
That ridiculous lions game and that bogus call.
Anyway. Wished he did. But he didn't.
better question is The Cowboys could ask themselves did they waste their years (and tony's) having JG as a OC and HC.The Cowboys could ask themselves did they waste their years having Romo as quarterback....
here is a question, if Tony isnt HOF worthy, then why did CBS go after him to be their top analyst ??
He is replacing a 2 time SB QB !!
Does CBS see him as a choker ? as a guy who wasnt good enough to win in playoffs or win a SB?
Tony got the same job at cbs that Aikman has at fox, and Aikman was in 3 SB's.
And it is possible they are paying Tony more than Aikman !
Pretty good for a choker, and underachiever lol.

Anyway, how can you say he was nowhere near close to getting to the NFL title game.
The Dez catch wouldve given them a lead with not much time. Maybe Rodgers does his majic anyway, but Id say that qualifies as close ( literally inches) by any standard.
Really, the game in 2007 was inches away too. 3rd dow, time running out, perfect pass in the endzone to Crayton...who broke the route.
Both games were so close to going to the NFC title game
Agreed...he won't make it into the hall of fame. Eli barely will, but poor Romo will not.Romo needed more than just 8 full seasons.
He didn't start until he was a bit older and then he missed most of 2010, 2015, and 2016 due to inju
Thats almost certainly 10000+ yards, 90-100 TDs that he would've had....but he didn't
Just don't see him making the HOF
ROH? Yes
Yes and no..
He made some 4-12 teams .500 or better. But I gotta say, he had every opportunity to win more with what he had. He collapsed on his own a lot of those times and really has nobody else to blame but himself.

I see your point and it's valid. I just think the two superbowl victories, plus being 9th in all time games won , 2 X Super Bowl MVP, and 4x pro bowl selection will carry him through. But like I said, it won't be easy. Plunkett didn't have any pro bowl selections and had 72 total wins, Eli is already at 112, and might end up top 5 winniest qb in NFL historyI really do not think Eli will. Anyone trying to tout him for it should be made to say why then did not Jim Plunkett make it? He had two rings as well.
Simms isn't a HOFer.
Other than Danny White just about every other guy who was a starting QB for the Cowboys for several seasons appeared in the broadcast booth at one time or another:
Meredith
Staubach
Aikman
And now Romo.
Romo had a good career, he played for the Cowboys (which is a ratings booster) and I think he projects well in front of the camera.
Him being in the HOF in the future or not being in it has nothing to do with it.

If Eli gets in the HOF there is something really wrong with the system.
Huh, did not know Staubach did broadcasts. I learned something new on a Saturday.
That's a pretty strong case, and he's still playing
- 4 X probowl
- 2 X Super Bowl MVP
- 9th in all time wins by qb
- 8th in total yards behind John Elway (6th) and warren moon (7th), and he'll pass them both this season and be right behind Dan Marino (5th)
- 3rd in NFL history for consecutive starts 211
