yes - first season here he got us to the playoff's and if it wasn't for a mistake on a snap then we would have progressed in the playoff's.

He got us there or he helped?

well he helped but that was our first time making the playoff's in 3 seasons - he was a big paret of that so he was worth it.

I know the numbers looked good but I did not see him as the same dominate force as he has shown in past years. I will agree he helped to get us to the playoffs though.

he wasn't a "huge" problem, but he brought more to the team than what was needed.

no he didn't

he just brought another argument to the forum, like we needed another argument, it's already as bad as it is w/o him

it's funny, TO wasn't dominant, but was still better than about 90% of the NFL's WRs

imagine when his hand is healthy, oh boy

He had a broke hand that required 2 surgeries months later .....

Numbers don't always tell the whole story, yes the numbers looked good but unlike past season Owens did not hit many big plays. I know some will say I'm just hating on him and I'm too the point of I don't really care but being honest all personal feeling put to the side I did not see the dominate play from him, I did not see him breaking the tackles on short passes and breaking them for the big plays very often. Maybe the hand injury played a big part in that hopefully we will see more of that from him this coming season.

Wow breaking news. I understand that and as I said it may very well have been the big reason. Believe me you don't need to run the rescue anytime someone comments on Owens. I'm only making an observation of what I saw last season sorry I did not just drool over him and get all wet. :laugh2:

You must have me confused with someone else ..... I am only forced to defend Owens when people say stupid things about him.

I dont like him ..... and if we had another reciever who could put up 13TDs and 1000+ yards I would cut him in a heartbeat.

We do not ...... So we are stuck with him .... no matter how many people cry about it.

dude, did you even read my post? instead of going off on your usual TO wasn't dominant tangent, read the responses, I said even though he wasn't dominant, he was still better than 90% of the receivers out there, now just imagine him w/ both hands healthy

And I commented on the hand and said it very well could have been part of the problem, I hope that is all it was so I can expect dominate play from him next season correct?

He was more dominate last year than any WR we have had since Mike was in his prime ....

what is dominate in your eyes? and which wideout today is example of that?

Um, yes. Yes he does. He's the Cowboys' unpaid and uninformed hatchet man.

TO falls asleep in meetings? "Everyone does it!"
TO doesn't know the plays? "Who does?"
TO goes through the motions on non-passing plays? "He's tired!"
TO spits in the face of an opponent? "He was provoked!"

Someone needs to tell roadkill that TO had a rep for dropping passes well before his little boo boo. And thanks to two surgeries, his hands will be even worse. Of course, only a fool would pay this damaged product his full salary and bonus. Our GM isn't a fool, is he? Stay tuned.

Yes I read your comment and hope the hand was the reason for the lack of big plays.

are you sure you read it? what did I say?;)

I would still like you to address my point that he was still better than about 90% of the receivers out there, and I think that figure is being generous on the rest of the WR's part

And the Commander fan puts in his 2 cents ...... to bad his opinion is not worth even that.

;)

And a Commander fan is the last person who should be commenting on overpaying for a wide receiver.

Hitting the big plays, for goodness sake he got more balls thrown to him than any WR on the team so yes I expect his catches to be high but I'm talking about hitting the big plays and no he was not doing that, he was not breaking the tackles that I have seen him do in the past and taking it to the house that is what I'm talking about. I would also say making the game changing plays I have seen from him in the past which I did not see much of last season. I'm wanting him to make these plays that I have seen him make before and you’re taking that as some insult, I'm sorry you can't see the difference of what TO has done in the past as compared to this past season but I did see a difference it is not all about the numbers.

Not for a 9-7 season and an early playoff exit. Now if we had done something in the playoffs, maybe. But for all his antics, there was little payoff. I reserve the right to amend this after every season he's here.

What antics?
Media driven overblown crap?

You did not answer either question. What reasons do you think made him not the same as years before?

TO had a lot of passes thrown his way he better be at the top given the oppertunities he got. It is not just about numbers and that is what your 90% is all about. TO could put up less numbers and do the things I'm talking about and I would be a lot more pleased. It is making plays that change the outcome of the game more than just raw numbers.
