Washington is great example how quickly Cowboys could turn it around

Winning championships isnt a real possibility with the Cowboys as long as our owner undermines the organization.

Dak is a product of that dysfunctional mechanism not the cause .

Don’t confuse with me with Dak Homers cause I take on the Dak Haters. I take on the Homers too which I was doing in initial post you responded to.
They have 3 Super Bowls with this ownership.

They have more Super Bowls with Jerry as the owner than they have playoff wins with Dak as the QB.

Meanwhile, a bum like Cooper Rush does nothing but win.

"No QB can win under Jerry" is a Dak over Dallas fan talking point.

We’ll start with the ones for whom there is simply no rational argument for taking over Dak at present:

Darnold
Baker
Wilson

Now that we’ve dispensed with those, here are the ones for whom Dak has been objectively better than by all or virtually all relevant statistical metrics for years but some will mindlessly try and argue for:

Goff
Herbert
Hurts
Stafford

That’s 7 already, which alone justifies my post as I said Dak is better than half the field.

But to further the point, of the remaining 7, 4 are players who haven’t done anything bough on the field yet to be called better than Dak but that who could absolutely be argued for on the basis of potential and trajectory:

Nix
Stroud
Daniels
Love

In other words, only 3 of the 14 QBs in this years field are clearly and inarguably better than Dak on the basis of production and efficiency in the league to date.
yeah sure whatever
just another Dak Bot

All it took was new ownership, new leadership in FO, coaching and of course insert of talent and top drafted QB.

Lions turned it around as well but it took a couple more years.

Washington’s turn around in one season is the new standard but exemplifies it can be done . But major changes are needed from the top down.
Interesting parallel. They had their own Dak(Kirk Cousins), and let him walk instead of paying him, even though he'd proven to be a competent QB. Why? Because you don't pay B talent A+ money. And after that? Keep trying until you find a good QB.

All it takes is a miracle. Yeah , you aren’t asking for much. Just a miracle
I dont usually believe in miracles. I’m more apt to believe in realities . Which means as long as Jethro is running Cowboys Football our outlook isn’t promising .

Cowboys could absolutely turn it around. New owner committed to winning and spend money in FA would have a major impact. Hire a good HC and staff would help. Getting injured players back will help. With a couple of breaks (especially Cincy) the Cowboys could have had a better season. Main thing is getting the owner to spend and the right HC in place.
We need a head coach with toughness, creative, accountability, smarts, leadership, that makes Jerry and Stephen accountable, getting diggs, overshown, Ferguson healthy, will help, in free agency the really only good players are on defense, but if Jerry and Stephen Jones redo dak, ceedee, steele if you keep him, diggs, would be enough to get about 110 million to sign top free agents on defense, sign dowdle, Hoffman, Turpin, our kicker, hopefully get gentry, even if you have to trade up in first round above 49ers, get a top defensive tackle, in 2nd round, then best player at safety or wide receiver in 3rd round with speed, I'm still hopeful about flournoy and mingo at wide receiver

Yep. But it starts at the top beginning with new ownership which hires the right people to make better decisions.

Thirty years without even reaching the Championship Game let alone the SB.

Frankly not even getting close.

and still Jethro has defenders here

Yes and no.

Washington had a ton of cap space which the cowboys do not. They hit on their qb of the future while we are stuck with a declining asset who has already peaked.

I need to see this "hard data" you speak of so I can eviscerate it with hard data of my own.
Dak is 8th all time in passer rating, 10th all time in QBR, 11th all time in adjusted passing efficiency, 5th all time in 4th quarter QBR, has the 5th best record against teams that finished .500 or better in the last 25 years, etc. The number of data points that show Dak is, at a minimum, a quality NFL starting QB are numerous.

With respect to his playoff record, it’s an issue. An issue lots of good to great QBs have had in history. But an important caveat is that Dak has the third worst average defensive performance of any QB in history with at least 4 playoff starts. He has 7 playoff starts and his defense has been nothing short of abysmal in 4 of them, and he played well in 2 of those games. He won 2 of the other 3 games. The only games that you can reasonably argue even COULD have been different had Dak played better are the two SF losses. Additionally, fans seem to not recognize that all QBs ever see a dramatic drop in their QBR in the postseason and Dak still has a WELL above average postseason QBR. For reference, if he retired today, Dak has a better QBR in the playoffs than half the current QBs in the HOF or pending HOF locks from the SB era.

A Jethro defender. Wow. This opens an entire can of worms.

I guess you weren’t around to know it was Jimmy who built those championship teams with total control of football operations .

Well, there’s no reaching someone who doesn’t acknowledge the Cowboys core issue this era regardless who our QB has been.

This board hates Kellen Moore and wanted Dan Quinn out. You all don’t get to now pretend like you loved them all along.
I’m not sure that’s totally accurate. I know as usual a very vocal group may have bashed but I think overall most fans credited DQ for turning our defense around.

Jerry is a better owner/GM than Dak is a QB.

He's won, multiple times, at his job.

So now you say Dak is a future HOF QB. Wow professional help is needed here.

I know Detroit’s defense was nonexistent. But Jared Goff definitely choked again. Daniels played over the top with confidence. I can’t wait for them to beat Philly. Lol.
Detroit was missing 19 players on defense, Goff and offense weren’t the problem. Washington hung 31 on the defense that was filled with practice squad players. Goff and that offense scored 31 points, which is usually good enough to win. Unfortunately the only thing to blame is refs and injuries, not Goff
