Washington Post: Commanders Trying to Land Cutler

He didn't blitz nearly as much. And Gregg Williams didn't look so good with the Jaguars last year. Our players are pretty good.

as a unit

as individuals...no

Yes for the Skins to get it done, given what I've heard it will take (I've read articles where it's been said it will take more than a 1 and a 3 to get Cutler) it's going to take them having to give a 1 and a player of some caliber. Meaning, off the top of my head, they've got Portis, Moss, and Cooley who might be of serious interest to anyone.

someone is bringing up Carlos Rogers

or maybe they're just flash-backing to the Portis trade

If he buys Cutler then he bought talent.

Gotta ask yourself though, if Pat Bowlen and Josh McDaniels of all people can get Cutler so worked up he wants to be traded in a fit of hissidom, how long will it take for Danny to say something utterly moronic to him and we go through this process again? Will he make it out of camp? Out of the introduction Press Conference?

I want the Commanders to trade for Cutler, just so I can pull this out every time we face them

Bill Williamson over at ESPN is reporting that they are also talking about adding Carlos Rogers

"A name surfacing around the league is Washington cornerback Carlos Rogers. He could be part of a package that would land Cutler in Washington. Whatever the package, is it is going to be complicated and it could involve multiple teams."

that's why he wants out. crybaby Cutler is sick of getting punked by Rivers and the Chargers.

I don't think an extremely average CB is the deal tipper here.

lol, and people still fear the Commanders adding Drew Brees-lite

Rogers is a top ten CB. He has hands of stone, so he doesn't put up the big INT numbers, but its as hard to get yards against him as almost any other CB out there.

Depends on what the other pieces are. Denver's Defense was really bad last season.

The Skins are going to get raped by the Broncos on this deal, little Napoleon just cant help himself.

If history repeats itself then you're probably making a safe bet. I'd give a one for him any day of the week. There are no safe bets drafting a QB. At the least Cutler is more than servicable.

The market is such that ole Danny Boy will have to overspend to guarantee getting him. That's ok with me in the long run but in the short run it makes the Skins more dangerous.

I absolutely think Cutler is better than Leftwich-Lite, but he is also a prima donna and they are going to have to mortgage their future to get him.

nothing new here
and then Cutler has to learn the O, and probably a new O in the future as Snyder runs through coaches and offensive systems every 2 or 3 years

Trade to Washington is "imminent."

:banghead:

The thing is.... Even if the Commanders do get "raped" in a trade they are still winners because they will acquire a bigtime Quarterback that is on the rise.

I think they should just stick with Campbell personally.

But if they give up the farm to acquire Cutler its not a dumb move at all.

The NFL is all about the Quarterback.

this organization is a joke. I feel bad for campbell. He is such a classy guy. He just came on ESPN 980 and did an interview, and unlike cutler, didnt throw anyone under the bus. He kept his composure and kept mentioning how this is a business, and no matter what happens, he will put 100% effort.

The thing that is weird to me is, Zorn called Campbell today reassuring him that he is their guy, and thats thats. Campbell also stated that he has had no contact with Snyder or Cerrato. Pretty sad when your GM seems to be having no contact with the head coach.

Anyways, I hope the trade falls through. I personally want to keep Jason, and think that he deserves a second year in this system. Draft a RT at 13, and hope the line holds up

it is a tough situation for Campbell but he's going about it the right way.

If Campbell was on Cutlers level and in the same situation i'd bet he'd handle it the same way.
