Their HC is possibly coaching for his job. Beating Dallas in Washington would be a huge feather in his cap. Losing to the Cowboys might seal his fate.
I am 100% confident his fate is sealed already..........winning this game can not save him. Don't be surprised several staters sit as stated by OP. Look for the Magic and owners to make the call to protect their draft ranking. They know a loss means they are at least G'teed Williams or Mayes since the will likely keep Fields.

They are 4/12. Losing could give them top 3 pick. Win and they could go to 7th? If I’m coaching them I’m resting starters and ensuring a loss. Issue might be that coach is gonna be fired and he has nothing to lose.
They are playing the Cowboys on prime time TV with a chance to have us lose the Division lol, they will play hard

It will matter even in that scenario because a loss coupled with a Detroit win drops them to the 3 seed.
Correct anyway 2 things matter here...............
1. We don't face Detriot at home.
2. A loss at SF again spoils it all
Let's hope 3 times a charmer.

I hate that last part of your statement! The DT that was complaining after the game several games ago he should be a HEALTHY inactive!

Rivera is a dead man walking. He doesn’t care about draft position. If anything he’d rather win and screw the team.
Yep, Rivera is gone and he knows it. A win against an arch rival in his last game would be gravy…cept it ain’t happening.

They gotta lose. If Howell had shown them something in the last month and a half then I would say they would try to win....but it is clear he aint it for them..... No way should they even attempt to win.

The way I see it, Washington has no incentive to even show up next week. A win and they potentially drop a few slots in the draft, which is huge. A win and they possibly lose out on one of the top two QBs or the best WR in Harrison Jr. Yeah, it is a division game. But business is business. The Washington players may want to stick it to the Cowboys but they would be sticking it to their future also. I highly doubt the ownership of Washington wants a victory. If I were the owner, I would make it clear (hint hint, wink wink) to the players that I want that 2nd pick.

If the roles were reversed, I would not want the Cowboys to win a meaningless game and lose out on the 2nd pick in the draft.
Who needs top QB's? You do it the Cowboy way for the last 25 years.

Some of you are crazy. You think the players care about draft position? Why don’t you go into your job and just lay down and be the worst possible employee, boss, whatever and see where that gets you. Those guys have pride and are playing for future money every single week. The coaches don’t want another loss on their record. Every single member of that organization would like nothing more that a repeat of last year and to see Dallas knocked down to the 5th seed and half to go though SF. No one is just laying down. Now, if the game gets out of hand and Dallas shows up and is dominating, sure some of the guys may lighten up but neither game is going to be easy for Dallas or Philly.

That's not the way it works for players. Players on teams that aren't doing well are fighting hard to keep their roster spots. They know that the team will be replacing players in an attempt to improve, and they want those in charge to say, "We can't cut this guy; he's really good." It would be unfair to them to ask them to tank.

Players are playing for their careers. Beating Dallas would be huge for them.
They will play hard Sunday. It's the preparation during the week where they will slack off.

But no matter how hard they play, there's no reason why Dallas shouldn't win by multiple touchdowns. Washington has now lost 7 games in a row.

division rivalry. I promise you guys they will have the best game they have had in several games. We better come in there ready to kick the door down and win. Its our div. to lose. Its been gift wrapped by the Eagles. We need to approach this as a must win playoff game. If we lose, fire the entire bloody staff including MM.

exactly. Its wishful thinking. Players have pride and get paid. Its not in their DNA to think about next year or the draft. They wanna win. We better come in there expecting a fist fight. It will be. Division game and they would love nothing more than to hurt us. Shame on us if we lose.
