If Garret lays an egg again given the talented group he has, at the very least, the Dallas media needs to start calling him out for the poor coach he is.
Won't matter, Booger doesn't care what the local media says about Garrett. He didn't fire Campo and hire Parcells because the local media was all over Campo, and they were even though they liked him as a man. He fired him and hired Parcells to get his new Big Top. Booger is neither accountable nor responsible to anyone but himself. He is bulletproof.

If I recall....Chip Kelly....yes the same Chip Kelly everyone on this board likes to laugh at. I think In his FIRST year as a NFL head coach...Mike Vick gets hurt...and he insert Nick Foles. Yes the same Nick Foles many on this board like to laugh at. I think they went on to win double digit games AND...AND the division. But I know many people will not remember that when Jerry, and Jason, and the RKG speeches, and the PROCSS speeches get rehashed. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Nah, sleeping is better than understanding this.

Yes true, but no one likes having a giant spotlight placed on them and being scrutinized. At the very least he disserves to finalize his coaching career with the realization that he was not very well respected as a head coach by fans and media. That should be his lasting legacy if he doesn't prove himself this year.

In 2008, the Ravens went to the AFC Title game with a rookie QB, rookie RB, new C and a new LT.

If they can do it, we can too! Right guys? Hip-hip-hooray!

With the injury to Romo, it's safe to say we are going to see what Garrett is made of and what he is capable of this season.

He's just a good young rookie QB this time around, the best offensive line in the NFL, and a great set of offensive weapons.

If he goes less than 8-8 this season, no matter the circumstance, I think this might be it.

Frankly, if this team is going to start fresh with Dak in 2017, I'd like to see it down with a new coach.

Disclaimer: I know this a pre-mature thread.
So since 2008, we now can finally see?

it sure looks like another 8-8 season at best. dak better pan out. if he doesnt we may be wasting zekes best years and dez' last years at prime searching for that QB

And people laughed @ me for saying...I have no problem taking Lynch w/ the 4th pick in the draft. You just don't pass up Franchise QBs.

If only Garrett could channel Dick Vermeil and the 1999 St. Louis Rams.

In 1999, starter Trent Green goes down for the season in a preseason game against the Chargers.
The team, under Vermeil's leadership rallies behind unknown back-up QB Kurt Warner and wins a division title, conference championship, and Super Bowl.

Let's see what kind of leadership Garrett exhibits when the team is under duress.

Dak is getting a crash course in dink dunk and protect the football as we speak. We Will run the ball, be conservative and keep it close until the 4th quarter.

The problem is close games are won by the team with the best QB or the elite defense. Unless Dak is a true rookie phenom we will have neither.

I've seen this movie before.

Absolutely right, Yet, I think the Coaches could be in a much better position to call the game they want. A young DAK can be mentored and developed the way the coaches want. As long as DAK stays coachable, there is hope

Do we realize, this DAK Prescott kid a 4th round pick, just became the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys....WOW.

Most of us already know what Garrett is made of and would rather not be reminded

We know what Jason is made of. It has been on full display for years. This injury will only be yet another excuse for Jerry to keep him and train him for another year.

Lets hope that Dak is the "franchise" QB that many wanted to trade up for.
many have been saying we need to get our future qb for as many as 3 years ago. we almost didnt get a decent one this year.
that would and could be disaster.
we may be too late to build team for Romo and witten. but are on the way to building a winner for the next leaders on this team.
too bad, but i dont think Romo is gonna be around much longer.

Thats a huge problem. If we play the way we did with Weeden and Cassel we are done. They will need to protect Dak but also take some shots. I hope the obsessive dinking and dunking was more a product of having crappy qbs afraid to take a shot than play calling.
