I think both Weeden and Cassel were afraid of making mistakes because we had open receivers but they wouldn't pull the trigger and they didn't have a healthy Dez. Dak has already shown he's a no fear QB with some of the throws he's made to "covered" receivers. Now, when it gets real, it gets turned up and we'll have a better idea of how much leash they give him.Thats a huge problem. If we play the way we did with Weeden and Cassel we are done. They will need to protect Dak but also take some shots. I hope the obsessive dinking and dunking was more a product of having crappy qbs afraid to take a shot than play calling.
If I am a member of that offensive coaching staff and had been called out by the check signers in the off season, I wouldn't be playing this tight at all. He's a rookie and mistakes will be expected but they will have to open it up to keep the 8th man out of the box. We cannot run the offense through the QB, have to tun it through the RBs.
