We are No. 2 in defense over the 49ers No. 3

Close one. It all depends on how the youngsters turn out. Which, BTW, is also the case w/ us. The Jets had a better D than us last season. And to have the 4th ranked D w/ that clusterfudge of an O they trotted out last season was super impressive.
Stat wise they were better but they could not match our playoff performance because they didn’t make it. I was impressed with how the Jets played the Packers and Buffalo. They certainly are in the running for top defense.

Of course. They have a terrible O. Are you evaluating the team or the D?

They easily surpassed our D during the regular season. Really wasn't all that close. 12th compared to 4th, and we had a viable O and they didn't. Which means they were on the field a ton more and asked to do a lot more.

The Cowboys defense was 12th stat wise but I guarantee NFL offensive coordinators had them top 5. Having a bad offense makes your defense look better because the offense becomes more conservative. Look at the Cowboys defense when Rush was the quarterback. Our defense was number 1 in the league during that stretch.

I thought the Cowboys had a top 5 defense last season. With Mazi and Gilmore and getting a few players healthy this defense should be top 3. As many have stated the league favors offense and in today's game there are no more shut down defenses. The best we can hope for is slow down limit the points scored defense. It's then up to the offense.

So would you list the names of these so called NFL offensive coordinators? Of course not because its all BS.

They did.

Only KC. And it's often the case when two juggernauts meet, that O's and/or D's get run over.

Think about Cincy the year before. How did they make the super bowl? By holding KC to 3 pts in the 2nd half.
We hung an awful lot of points on them too. They were unbelievably fortunate they got to play a crummy offensively challenged NYG team and a SF that didn’t have a qb.
Interesting to see what happens this coming year. Rarely has a Super Bowl loser fared well the following.

Then how is he going to know what they're saying about him?

I think it does get fatiguing with all of this but I also see a lot of members love a good cyber scuffle.

And my favorite play of them all is the threat to ignore a member. "OK, that's it, you're in real trouble now".

I just wish we had a lot more ladies on the forum with some bad attitudes because they fight better and funnier than men.
Agreed. But the guys that just come on to spread hate and annoy arent even worth a discussion. Better off without their drivel.

Mazi is key. He lives up to expectations and the D is set up for 3 Super Bowl runs!

Rams just won a super bowl based mostly on their D. Chiefs D was 11th in the NFL last season, no bargain. Philly's D was 2nd. Before the super bowl, which was undoubtedly an offensive show, the Eagles' D held they opponents to 7 pts in both games. The Chiefs D held both their opponents to 20.

You simply won't win a super bowl w/o a decent D.

Rams had everything.

Opposite. Having a bad O leaves your D on the field way too much.

The Philly D knocked Purdy out. Huge. Different game if that doesn't happen.
