Different topic. The fact you wont admit youd take Keuchly over Jaylon proves you drink Homer-soup instead of good whiskey...lol
Who's a Homer? I would choose between a non existent and reality? Who's taking this literally? You want me to "admit" to a fantasy? Your fantasy?

I like to hang with what's real. If you want to make choices that don't exist.....carry on.

Sean Lee actually showed signs his rookie year of being a playmaker.

Smith? Not so much. And that's with even more talent around him (believe it or not, 2010 was getting that bad)

So your argument is "other people did good, so he can't possibly do that?"

I know that lame sort of post works on this board but, really, it's just rating "drunk guy at the bar" on the credibility scale

Yep for some anyone who puts the Star on is untouchable.... especially guys who are "feel good". Jaylon is apparently our Rudy. Unfortunately Rudy was a better player for his team.. <ducks>
They're all "untouchable", IMO. Replacing players with your dream team will never happen.

Lol OK....hey Seven serious question... I was wondering if you had like a collection books and posters of Dinosaurs? Reason I ask is because it is my understanding that Autistic people who can't or have trouble dealing with anything other than literal talk they sometimes have amazing knowledge of dinosaurs. Just curious...thanks.

And I've seen Heath fail at his primary responsibility - coverage - over and over.

He needs to go. But I have no doubt he's a Marinelli favorite and will continue to play and screw up in coverage.
I'm not sure that's what you've actually seen.

It takes a lot of study just to have a educated guess on coverage responsibilities for many plays. The switch back to primarily zone coverage makes it even more difficult.

What's a "collection books"? Posters? The 80's called and they want their posters back, butter knife.

You've gone from a will never happen to dinosaurs and posters?

I've always assumed that 12 was a legal age to post here. Silly me.....

I've been saying this for the past few weeks, he's playing better. Still a long way to go and he's better as a situational player, but a lot of it is about knocking off the rust.
YR

This is exactly what I'm seeing. If he quit improving today, he'd never be more than JAG. But he is slowly improving and NO ONE knows where his ceiling is at this point.

I have come the conclusion that those that hate on Jaylon do it because he is so obviously a fine young man that they know is so much a better person then they are themselves that they must hate him or commit suicide.
I would like to think most people's judgements on Jaylon is about his level of play and NOTHING else

Dak and zeke are the exception, not the norm. Expecting a guy who has been out of football for a year to a serious injury to come in and dominate as a rookie is unrealistic. He will need time to adjust and get his instincts back.

LOL.

So that's what we are going with?

There are many people who have watched the tape saying what I said. He's not playing well back there, especially when asked to play deep safety. Slow reaction times, he looks confused at times, he gets caught out of position.

But yeah let's keep hoping he's actually pretty good.

And people wonder why this defense continues to be mediocre year after year.

Anyone who expected him to come in and be elite this year, was just operating on wishful thinking.

This guy had a monster knee injury, that could/should have ended his career. Once he regains full trust in his knee, I fully expect to see the Jaylon Smith who was supposed to be a top-5 pick.

Lucky for us, we have an above-average starting MLB in Hitchens right now, which will allow Jaylon to continue to acclimate to the NFL game.

Starting to see flashes and better closing. Looking better blitzing also. Very encouraged

Jaylon Smith had a pretty good game today. I think some people are gonna have to come down from the ledge. Including myself.

It's so heartening to see the flow of fans clamoring to remove themselves from the ledges. Reminds of the days when my boy Oscandalous made a believer out of the same Mike Jenkins loving audience.

Yeah, that's it.
It couldn't be that he was just awful at MLB, which is why he's no longer starting there.
He's getting spot duty, situational duty, blitzes, etc. Less thinking; less reading the blocks and sifting through huge guys to make a tackle.

Maybe he'll be a starting LB some day, though I"m thinking it may not be at MLB, but he was awful when Lee was out......that's a fact, and it's not "hate"
