I really hate that attitude. It's coach speak nonsense. Something straight out of the mouth of the gingerbot. These games are tight and competitive. One call can decide a game. Using the above mindset the officials are absolved of ever influencing the outcome of the game.

Yeah, there were 56 minutes before and the Cowboys used that time to remain within one score of the Packers in Green Bay in the divisional round of the playoffs. Then they made the play to put them ahead late in the game, setting themselves up for potential victory. Then it was taken away from them. Period. End of story.

Sure it is Coachspeek but it is what I would expect a good coach to say in preparing this 2015 team. I know for sure a guy like Bill Belichick wouldn't be drawing on something bad that happened to them in the season before unless it is something they can use as a teachable moment. As a fan, maybe I'd have a different opinion had that call happened with 30 seconds left on the clock. But the Packers got in field goal range when they were just trying to run out the clock. It's hard for me to think they couldn't get into field goal range, or even get in the end zone, with the putrid level of pass rush the Cowboys showed in the second half of that football game. If the team is still feeling sorry for themselves after that game going into the 2015 season I'd be disappointed.

99% of us know it was a catch but the simple fact of the matter is that it will not be reversed. Can not be reversed. No amount of flooding inboxes or non-stop phone calls is gonna change that. If anything needs to be done, the rule needs to be changed or written in such a way that leaves no doubt as to the clarity of it.

It's time to let the anger and bitterness go. The only person you're hurting is yourself.

I'm not asking for the call to be reversed, that moment is gone. I'm trying to get Dean Blandino fired, and the rule abolished, so that it doesn't happen to our Cowboys again. An entire season of hard work, washed away by a baseless call at a critical moment in the game.

If the Cowboys lost the game after that, i can accept it. But I can't watch incompetent former comedian who has never refereed a game in his life, sit in judgement of a catch that millions of people saw. He will be fired. And the rule will be completely removed.

We have failed as Cowboy fans if we do not FLOOD the NFL's comment line, 1-212-450-2000, swamp their email inbox, and stack their facebook page with absolute outrage over them taking away an absolute CATCH by Dez Bryant in the playoffs, in front of millions watching the game. If Dean Blandino gets fired, we have done our job.

What if Romo and Witten never see a Super Bowl simply because an incompetent sits in the league's officiating office, Dean Blandino?

The so called Calvin Johnson rule is full of gibberish about "completing the process " without EVER defining what conditions complete that. Furthermore, in the offseason, they made the rule more vague than before, just to double down on stupidity.

I'm telling you, the ONLY NFL definition of completing the process is DOWN BY CONTACT. And Dez was DOWN BY CONTACT before the ball ever came out. Never mind the 6 football moves he made, which made it a catch well before that, and all the other stuff you've undoubtedly heard before.

I'm still white hot angry over that blatant tampering, I plead with you, make a call today!

........I was kinda spitting cotton for awhile afterwards as well, but I have rationalized it like this.......the way our D was playing, Rodgers would have had more than enough time for a score to win. So that Dez takeaway was not the reason we lost. Tell you what, lot cheaper than a therapist that's for sure.

Well, when they take away another critical catch from the Cowboys because there wasn't enough outrage the first time, I'll know I did everything I could.

Everyone else can relax in their apathy, while a catch in the NFL continues to be completely meaningless, at the whim of a referee who selectively applies a useless phrase. But because the Cowboys might have still lost, pathetic application of the rules for all future seasons is just fine!!??

Apathy will be failure. Relentless Determination will remove the former comedian Dean Blandino, from officiating forever.

You make some solid point's, but "white hot angry" and "tampering?" A bit strong for the situation and it really is time to move on. You might want to consider the mantra "It ain't that serious, bro" because getting this worked up is not healthy. Seriously.

it wasn't a catch by the definition of the rule. move on,,stop the whining!

But that's the problem. There was no true definition in the first place. It's so murky and tons of gray area.

Anyways, I have moved past it. Onto 2015. You do hope it does not happen again to any team.

That call deflated the Cowboys. Who knows how the defense would've played with momentum and the lead? The D made big plays at crucial moments throughout the season. Would they have come through again? We will never know. That's the crime we need to move on from.

My point is not the past, which we cannot change, but the offseason changes, which has made the Calvin Johnson rule MORE vague for future seasons.

Thanks for the likes, btw.

This will not be the first time that we fans have failed. We bear the greatest share of responsibility for this franchise's performance over the past decade. No way to get around it.

So, what would you have them do? Reward the Cowboys last years Lombardi?

It's coach speak. It's also the only thing you can possibly say when your team gets jobbed on a call. It also has the benefit of being true. Teams have to overcome their own mistakes, the play of their opponents, bad luck, and the human error that comes with officiating mistakes. The only way you can possibly do that is to keep the focus on every single play with the goal of coming out on top if you get good enough at doing that. Sometimes that won't happen anyway. Sometimes you get jobbed. Sometimes the ball bounces off of Witten's foot and the Giant catches it. The fact that it happens doesn't change the approach one bit, and had we made one or two more plays in GB, we still would have come out with a win.

That doesn't mean the review crew didn't blow that call and affect the outcome of that game, though. They did.

What I would do, as I've said repeatedly in this thread, is flood the office with calls and get Dean Blandino fired and the rule abolished.

The Dez catch has already been cussed and discussed ad infinitum. The league has its agenda and overturning Dez's supposed catch unfortunately isn't part of it at this juncture. Who knows -- maybe similar circumstances happening in the future might ultimately inspire reconsideration of their thinking -- (kinda doubt it, though.)
