We have failed as Cowboys fans

When one team gets screwed, the fans of the 31 other teams just don't give a crap. If anything, depending on the team that was screwed, those other fans enjoy it.

So nobody is getting fired over something that 31/32 of the fanbase either supports or, at most, just doesn't care about.

The terms used in the rule are undefined and vague. Wake up.

Cowboys have woke up, in their view it was a catch. it is now over and a new season is in front of them and all that matters is what happens at this point. Even if you sent letters and emails and the league said "you know what we think it was a catch" what good would it do and what would it change? You think they will go back and hand Dallas the Lombardi? It is done and over there is nothing left to do but move on.

When we win an important game this season by some *******ized interpretation of a stupid rule, I'll feel better.

Until then, we got jobbed.

NO! The issue is "completing the process" means the same as down by contact. There is no other NFL definition. The rule is complete gibberish.

Well for one thing you cant be sure dallas then gpes on to beat seattle , and then NE to win the SB.

The process is also about maintaining control of the ball all the way to the ground and after you hit the ground.
The ball moved when dez hit the ground, and popped out of his hands as he rolled over, indicating lack of control.
It was a debatable play so Mr B got to decide.
Had dez not gone for the glory of a "dez mr X td" and just caught it and controlled it to the ground the cowboys would be first and goal
and could run more time off and score td easy.
on 4th down in that situation it is stupid to extend, just take the first down.
If it was 3rd down or less then extend is ok, but not on 4th when you have time and would have a first down.

We have failed as Cowboy fans if we do not FLOOD the NFL's comment line, 1-212-450-2000, swamp their email inbox, and stack their facebook page with absolute outrage over them taking away an absolute CATCH by Dez Bryant in the playoffs, in front of millions watching the game. If Dean Blandino gets fired, we have done our job.

What if Romo and Witten never see a Super Bowl simply because an incompetent sits in the league's officiating office, Dean Blandino?

The so called Calvin Johnson rule is full of gibberish about "completing the process " without EVER defining what conditions complete that. Furthermore, in the offseason, they made the rule more vague than before, just to double down on stupidity.

I'm telling you, the ONLY NFL definition of completing the process is DOWN BY CONTACT. And Dez was DOWN BY CONTACT before the ball ever came out. Never mind the 6 football moves he made, which made it a catch well before that, and all the other stuff you've undoubtedly heard before.

I'm still white hot angry over that blatant tampering, I plead with you, make a call today!

put up a video billboard.

that will work.

My point is not the past, which we cannot change, but the offseason changes, which has made the Calvin Johnson rule MORE vague for future seasons.

Thanks for the likes, btw.

can you post the rule here? the old and the newer more vague one??

If they keep it and did actually make it more vague, then they might want it that way for reasons unknown.
maybe Blandino had the cowboys over detroit, and GB over the cowboys, and that rule came in real handy along with the cobb catch that wasnt.
I sometimes think they have rules like they do just so outcomes can be manipulated.
Blandino does sound Italian ?

We had 56 minutes before that play and 4 minutes after to win the game. The team needs to move on from that play and look at themselves in the mirror for areas of improvement and move on to 2015.

Hear you there, we could have thrown to Dez all game, etc. It was putrid (coaching) that the game came down to a Hail Mary attempt. Never mind blitzing a hobbled Rodgers. Back to the hail mary, etc. We had a crap gameplan:(

Well, when they take away another critical catch from the Cowboys because there wasn't enough outrage the first time, I'll know I did everything I could.

Everyone else can relax in their apathy, while a catch in the NFL continues to be completely meaningless, at the whim of a referee who selectively applies a useless phrase. But because the Cowboys might have still lost, pathetic application of the rules for all future seasons is just fine!!??

Apathy will be failure. Relentless Determination will remove the former comedian Dean Blandino, from officiating forever.

We are just as likely to benefit from a blown call going forward as we are to get burned by one again. That is unless you believe in the vast anti-Cowboy conspiracy......

Wow, someone needs to let it go. That's like saying that's the only reason why we lost. This whining is on par with the, "OH YA?? Well...we have more superbowl wins than your team even though it was forever ago..."

Who the heck is "we?"

Secondly, last year, over three thousand protestors showed up IN PERSON in Minneapolis, at an actual NFL stadium, visible before network cameras, expressing their objection to that smear Washington owns. Just checked. Nothing's changed. Now that's an example of serious people organizing a serious protest about a serious issue and carrying through with the protest with unmeasurable results.

But an internet forum call to arms seems logical for a huge, yet minor event in the big scheme of things, in-game decision that occurred months ago?

I'm sorry but I must ask again who the heck is "we?"

Afterwards did they protest over the Apache helicopter, or the Blackhawk helicopter? How about the tomahawk missile, code name Geronimo in the killing of Bin Laden or was this just restricted to the Washington football team? lol
The goose hollering about the gander? lol

The Dez catch has already been cussed and discussed ad infinitum. The league has its agenda and overturning Dez's supposed catch unfortunately isn't part of it at this juncture. Who knows -- maybe similar circumstances happening in the future might ultimately inspire reconsideration of their thinking -- (kinda doubt it, though.)

What this injustice has done is bought us a chip in the game.

Every official has scrutinized the replay, and JJ has pointed out the obvious to the powers that be.

They owe us one now, and they know it. If the same kind of crucial blown call happens again in our opponent's favor, this would actually look like bias; the league can't afford for that to happen.

If JJ had raised hell and berated the officials publicly as some have suggested, he and the organization would be perceived as deserving of such bad fortune.

Made-up calls are made all the time, either purposely or subconsciously.

Even refs have a conscience.
