We have failed to address 3 primary needs in FA

Pass rush (all apologies to Mayowa, but he's a role player), CB (so we could cut Carr & his salary), and backup QB. Not whining, but this is the reality. Which, sadly, locks us into these positions of need in the draft. Going to be hard to take the BPA with each pick with these glaring holes. C'est le vie, but after a 4-12 season, an increased salary cap, and possibility of +$9M more with cutting Carr, I expected more. Just cannot see why we were not in on 1 year deals for Mario Williams and Prince Amukamura at the reasonable salaries they got.

Frankly, I think we were locked into taking a pass rusher, CB/safety or QB with the first pick by the players likely available to us at No. 4.

I don't think we've pursued top talent at those spots for that reason.

Why pick up a starting end when Joey Bosa might be the No. 1 guy on our board available to us? (If we don't take Bosa, though, we are forced to either take an end at the top of the second or bring back Hardy because of Gregory's suspension.)

Why pick up a starting corner/safety when you might can get Jalen Ramsey? (I don't think we're forced to do anything at this position because we have our top three corners in Scandrick, Carr and Claiborne back and starting safeties in Church and Jones.)

Why spend a lot on a backup QB when the best pick at No. 4 might be Carson Wentz or Jared Goff? (Again, we're not forced to do anything here because we have our starting QB.)

I don't see the need for worry. We're picking near the top of the first four rounds. We have enough picks to get three to four starters or players who will contribute heavily.

DE, CB, QB (although he's not likely to be the No. 2 backup) and RB. We can get help in all four areas via the draft.

So Chillax!

Injuries will happen this year too.

We've done little to nothing to improve the roster. We've gotten slightly better at DT, worse at DE, better at backup RB (whooptie-do!), and done nothing to improve backup QB.

Meanwhile we've added no help to the secondary, LB, WR, Special teams, wash at QB.

Do we really expect three or four rookies to come in and provide us with the a) pass rush b) turnovers we couldn't get from last year's roster, which is almost completely the same?

It is what it is....We will live or die by the draft this year. If we stay healthy we have a good shot to make the playoffs and that's what
you plan for this time of year. No team can afford to have "All Pros" at every position. This ain't Madden!

Of course not. But we could've at least tried to get talent in here to fix the pass rush and lack of turnovers

One 'fixes' in the draft...and adds a special single piece in free agency...

Unless one really believes that millions are monopoly money.

Team is in a bind because they usually take rounds 2-7 off in the draft. That being said I'm not overpaying to just fill a need in FA. Doing that, costs you Frederick and Martin when they hit FA. Gonna be hard enough to keep both.

Truer words (in bold) have never been spoken.

The odds are stacked against them (the Boys) but the opportunity for a great draft is there. They have the opportunity to select up to 4 prospects on the list of top-100 players. Three of their picks are in the top 100 but someone from the list always drops. The potential is there.

You're right that these are now likely going to be addressed in the draft. With the depth on defense in this draft I think we can draft DE and CB in the first three rounds and it end up being the BPA also.

But QB is going to be the tough one. If we take Wentz/Goff at 4 (which I doubt) it's debatable whether they'd be BPA. But those two have the best chance of being franchise QB's.
Also, I don't see any of the next tier QB's being BPA in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, unless Lynch drops to #34 or Cook/Hackenberg drops to the 3rd round. But no way do I see Cook/Hackenberg as being close to BPA at #34 and I wouldn't touch any of the other QBs in the 3rd.

Im disappointed the safety position isn't being addressed. Possibly the weakest unit on the team.

They need Depth in the Secondary guys like Hall and Reggie Nelson could help if we weren't so damn cheap !!! In my
view its fine to be a little frugile but in the case of Patrick Robinson there was a $500,000 difference over 3 years, maybe
you need to bump your offer up 1 million over those 3 years to entice him to sign...they did a poor job on this one !!!

finding four rookie players to start or make huge contributions to this team this year is a pipe dream. this is pretty much the same defense that couldn't get a turnover or a stop last year and I don't see where they will be much better this year and drafting a safety with the fourth pick is not very smart.

Problem is none of these will be addressed this season no matter who they draft. It won't take affect for 2 or 3 seasons either.

It would have to come way...way down from what I hear.

Time will tell, I will be surprised if they roll into the draft after bringing in Hall, Robinson, Carrol, and reported interest in Heyward. Appears to me they are trying to upgrade.

That's a problem

That's a problem in Green Bay, NY, New Orleans, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Detroit, New England, Seattle, Washington, Jacksonville, Miami, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Baltimore.

See how big that boat is? It's a QB driven league and nobody is immune to losing one.
