We may not have Belichick as an option

Early 60s.

There's no claim. He drove the team straight into the dirt as the worst in football.
Come on now. I admit Landry's last couple of seasons were probably his worst, but to say he made the Cowboys the "worst" in football is a bit of hyperbole. His legacy of taking on an expansion team from the beginning and turning them around into yearly contenders with consecutive playoff appearances and several Super Bowls would suggest otherwise.

Would we want a 72 year old coach that is running around with a 24 year old?

Not sure BB would work in the coddled player, NIL, transfer portal era in College football.
True. There's a lot of tumult with changes in college football now, as you say NIL, transfers, recruiting etc. Nick Saban, from the sounds of it, panned all the changes before he retired.

The longer the season goes on, I’m convinced KM will be the hire. I don’t think Jerry wanted to let him go but MM did

lol the man is 72 and can’t get an nfl job now yet so many want to hire him as our next coach

Risen, you are a smart guy…even you must see the tea leaves on the wall with a 2-yr MM extension.

Worst case scenario is we make the playoffs, get a 20th draft pick and now have to keep MM. If we beat the Bengals Monday all of you are in for 5 years of depression.

At least drafting in the top 10 we can get a player of Micah’s caliber who can affect the w/l column. Instead it will be OL.

No head coach candidate with an option to coach elsewhere will agree to become the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

An older coach like him with a treasure trove of football knowledge is perfect for college football. The majority of the players in college sports will still listen to a coach. I'm sure the stress of coaching impressionable young men is a lot less than spoiled millionaires.

This is not great news. A lot of people are saying we want a young coach. But who ? Who is the guy? Name him. Its not like 40 yr old Jimmy Johnson is waiting for the call. Its either going to be a Belichick hire or an old Dallas retread( Moore, McCarthy resigning, or Zimmer). Those are going to be the choices. The OC's from Detroit or Houston are pipe dreams. Jerry will not hire them. They want huge $$.

They were 3-13 in his last season.

for those of us who actually look at history closely, it was much more Bum Bright cutting the scouting staff and coaches salaries that had more to do with that

It would be sad to see a legend like Bill desperately cling to the NFL with a trash franchise like this. College would be a great fit for him probably.

Exactly it has to be well known it's career suicide. These people that think Moore will come back are living in a fantasy land. He'll have better options, including just remaining as OC for a good organization like PHI.

If Jerry can't get a buddy as head coach, he's probably extending McCarthy.

I'm really worried about a Kellen Moore or even Garrett (can you imagine?) hire .
If he made Garrett head coach again, I would straight up quit being a fan of this team.

Some of that
But Landry was terrible the last couple years as well

Such a boring and tired response.

They can't reference a single time a coach turned down the Cowboys. Not one.
