I think they are going to be dangerous and underrated this year. A playoff team if we don’t take care of business. I could see them going 11-6 and us going 10-7 if we lose to them here. Take care of business and get that W
I have that same suspicion. I think the Giants will be better than expected this year, and they may even have a shot at winning the East.

No argument there, but that if has become a pretty significant piece to the equation for Waller. For week one I'd agree with you that I'd take Waller. If I had to pick one group for the entire season, I'm still probably going with the Cowboys trio.
Oh, I completely agree... as a group ours has sooooo much potential

Mckinney isn't better than Donovan Wilson lol

And banks will be better than Gilmore? Huh
And Gilmore is how old? In 3 years he will be collecting Social Security checks while my guy is playing in the All Pro Game.

All pro because he's a first rounder?

We can't get better opposing teams trolls than this? Smh.
Why are you on here trying to convince cowboy fans to respect your team? Mentioning Paris freaking Campbell.

The NFC East wasn’t as good then. It was a battle between us and the Giants in 2016. The NFC East had three playoff teams last season and they all won a playoff game. With the schedule the Cowboys have I’m not counting on 11 consecutive wins if we drop the opener this year. We could easily start off 0-2 with the Jets and Aaron Rodgers coming up in week two. The Jets look like they could have a pretty good team this year and we all know the struggles we’ve had against Rodgers.
I didn't count on it then either. Who would have thunk we would win 11 in a row with a new qb? We did beat some pretty darn good teams that year. When things click, they click. You just never know. I try to keep an optimistic attitude when it comes to my Cowboys. Thanks for the reply. As always KJJ, your insight is spot on.

dang, I hope we don't lose. if we do, the call for Trey will put some guys on here on suicide watch. Jerry just trading for him has hurt some major feelings.
strange,

We didn’t count on 11 consecutive wins in 2016 because we had no idea Dak would be as good as he was as a rookie. It was a surprise if not a shock to all of us. I doubt many of us thought Zeke would have the great rookie season he did it. In 2016 our OL was second to none. Since 2016, Dak has regressed some. We no longer have the great OL we had or a 1600 yard rusher. Some of the concerns we have on the current team are on the OL, primarily depth and at RB. We have concerns about Dak’s INT’s that have continued in training camp. He only had 4 INT’s his rookie year. The Cowboys have a pretty daunting schedule coming up and they’re not going to be able to afford to throw away games like they did against Green Bay and Jacksonville.

I agree, '73! we do need to win game 1.

I just hope the OL can stay together and make a run.

He's about as reliable as Tyron. By week 8 they will have some scrub out there trying to play TE.
Totally different positions played, and yes he's missed games the last two season but also played pretty much full season the 2 before that. You can say he's injury prone, but don't compare him to my man Ty's health

I’m not too sure why you singled out Parris freaking Campbell here….if you think lowly of him, you must think even worse of your own Michael Gallup. Do you?

Gallup: 14 games…39 for 424 yds…4 TDs
campell: 17 games…63 for 623 yds….3 TDs

And Campbell did not have a great QB throwing to him all year on a woeful Indy team. Gallup had the great Dak and reliable back up, Cooper, for several games as well.

A lot of that 11 in a row was due to not turning the ball over much at all. And a really good run game that kept our average defense off the field. Dak only had 4 picks all season. That's insane. Just dumb luck gets you more picks than that. But if Dallas can come close to that 2016 offense, with this defense, they should be hard to stop.

Look at the disingenuous troll acting like Gallup wasn't coming off all surgery. How cute. We're done here. Again, can we get better opposing teams fans on here please?

according to some on here we need to lose bc every good season we have had in the last decade+ we have lost the first game
Yeah, I saw that post too. By the same logic, it could also be said that every season the Cowboys have bounced out of the playoffs early, they've lost the 1st game of the season.

Gonna be tough... first game of the season is always tougher than normal due to the first team finally getting on the field. You never know how they will perform, or underperform,... lately, results not good. But we shall see. Just good to finally get this thing started.
Good post. I would only add that the 1st-game-of-season rust should apply to the opposing team also...

I wouldn’t go that far but so far he has proven that he can’t get us to a NFCCG
There's not a quarterback in NFL history that has gotten a team to a CCG. The team gets the team to championship games.

It's called a football TEAM not a football QUARTERBACK for a reason.

i was only responding to your dissing a Giant player who caught 63 passes last year on one of the worst teams in football.

I compared him to Gallup because it seems to me Gallup’s resume shows him to be a JAG….pretty much what Campbell is to date. Yes, it did only show Gallup’s last year numbers but he did play 14 games. I assume if you can play you are healthy enough…in most cases. I was not aware Gallup was playing handicapped last year.

Nevertheless, in Gallup’s 5 years of playing, he has caught this number of passes and TDs:
2018: ……33-2
2019:…….66-6
2020: …..59-5
2021:……35-2
2022:…….39-4

As for Campbell, his first 3 years he played only 6,2, 7 games. Last year was the first year he was healthy, playing all 17 and catching 63 for 3 TDs.

Im not sure why you would be offended with me comparing Campbell with Gallup. You give me the impression you think Gallup is so much better. Do these numbers really bare that out? Only one year out of five he caught more than 60 passes. Pretty much the Same as Campbell…one out of four years for him that he caught more than 60.

For the record, I’ve never come here and dissed any Cowboys player and certainly am not dissing Gallup….I even love Dak.

We must beat every team. We will beat every team we are capable of defeating.
