We need to fix our short yardage offense

I agree... I want to see Choice running the football more.

Again, Choice or Jones arent going to do any better when everyone in the universe knows the play call is a run up the gut.

The reason Haynesworth can crash down like that is because everyone knows we're running behind Leonard Davis in every short yardage situation. Hanyesworth can abandon his responsibilities to his side with no worries that we're going to make him pay for it by running in his vacated gap. It's pretty much an impossible block for Kosier (or any guard) to make from a leverage standpoint when a man as quick and big as Hanyesworth can just jump an angle like that with complete confidence and abandonment.

I dont buy it, he pulled the same garbage in the San Diego game where the playoffs were no done deal.

...I think you will see a play action bootleg to Phillips on a short yardage play against the Eagles in the playoffs.

somebody just needs to switch the 3rd and 4 playlist on Garret's sheet into the 4th and 1 area.

How did Barber score on the goal line the other day? We spread it out with 3 or 4 wrs/te....

I noticed the same thing. In the SD game as well as last night, every time he was stopped it was a run between the tackles. Not one sweep or pitch out.

I saw 22 get stuffed 2 times on the same drive in Phily 3 - 4 down could not get a yard

I didn't say he could make them every time, the question was why didn't we have Aikman running sneaks. Because you had 22. That is why.

Play action will be wide open when they lineup w/ Barber short yardage. Every defender is keying on the run.

I agree, be nice to have Romo fake it and roll out with a TE or WR in the flat, give Romo the chance to toss or make a play with his feet. ANYTHING would be better than running Barber into the pile again for no gain...

QB sneak needs to be tried. All those worried about injuries answer me this: when was the last time a QB was injured on a sneak?

...available, but there's a time and a place for these type of plays.

4th and 1 plays don't have alot of variety and deception is often your best friend on offence during these situations.

Unless the situation warrants it as an OC I would not use a variation that I wanted the defence to sell out on.

I see the next game against the Eagles as a non-candidate for a new play unless it is a certainty that it will win us homefield advantage.

When we use it successfully for a game turning situation then Philly or any other opponent will have to think about it coming out again in the playoffs.

When Dallas shows opponents it can attack other gaps beside the A and B in 4th and 1 situations we will find those creases will open up more.

i think its barber more than anything... to much hesitation and not enough burst

It's almost like he is running the draw play on short yardage situations. His stuttersteps are allowing the defense get off their blocks and tackle him.

When we bunch everyone tight is when we can't run. Barber's best runs are from the draw play which gives the bigs time to get a push. My problem is the formation. Get wides splits and use 3wr to spread the field. Barber can usually win a one-on-one.
