We should sit D. Ware

He is not himself because he is over 30 years old, tired, and has lost his burst. The shoulder/neck/whatever injuries have absolutely nothing to do with it.

He had 4 sacks through 3 games. The injuries are clearly bothering him.

That number is seriously misleading. Watch those sacks again.

I can't completely remember all 4, but I know one was on the play where Sean Lee was held or he would have had the sack, and another was just opportunistic. He isn't dominating physically at all.

He was a 100% a few weeks ago until he got a neck stinger. He looked good until the San Diego game and now he just looks like a whimpered pit bull.

He was fresh because of a full off season.

I think his football playing days are numbered.

Bull rush in the Rams game where he destroyed the left tackle?

I'm pretty sure he hurried Manning on Mo's INT.

Not to mention the countless times he's been tackled on his way to the QB.

He's playing so bad for his standards that I would rather let him recover and get him healthy for the rest of the season.

This D Ware is very average.

Trot him out there and get average play or sit him a few weeks and get the best Pass Rusher in the league...? hmmmm

You being one of the most respected posters out there I will give you a pass though I disagree with an indignant "Nein!"
. In an ordinary year I would say, "chure, rest him." But ya gotta admit this D is an unmitigated (whatever that mean) disaster and all leaves are cancelled. Sgt. Rock of Easy Company would agree with me. Also, Kid Colt and the Rawhide Kid would agree with me and the rest of my imaginary friends.

After the first-play interception against the Giants, he had zero tackles and sacks.

This is just what he is now. He's sliding down the backslope at break-neck speed.

You have to play him because resting him won't make a bit of difference later.

I would rather none be hurt at all but this is football and reality This teams can't just sit guys and go with what? Depth is an issue as is so now we take a key player and sit him and hope like hell the season is still there for the taking? No Thanks

You get played to play. Hurt or not, Ware has to step up. He knows this. No excuses.

He needs to heel, rather than being out for the season. Unlike the rest of the pop tarts he would work hard to get back on the field.

I have no idea what any of this means but for some reason you sold me on it. Play him! ;)

I agree. He will continue to get treatment for the problem during the week but he has a job to do and unless there is just no way of going then players suit up and hit the field. It is just the way it is and has always has been. Football does not have 162 games you get 16 games and each game is important.

I'm in no way saying we should trade him, but for the sake of conversation, I wonder what he'd bring.

With his health being a concern going forward and the money he makes, I would think not enough to warrant trading him. We would be better off getting him some help on the line and let him get back to 100% healthy.

With that said, if some team offered a 2nd right now, jump on it.

Fact is, I don't care about tackle and sack stats. I go by what I see.

When a big game is on the line, Ware has habitually disappeared his whole career. He racks up stats against inferior opponents in the first halves of games, and we call him great for it. He is not in the same league as Charles Haley, who was usually quiet for three quarters, then took over the game in the fourth.

Spot on.
