Bull rush in the Rams game where he destroyed the left tackle?

I'm pretty sure he hurried Manning on Mo's INT.
You can point to specific good plays for any DE in the league.

Playing injured, he graded out as the best DL from the Broncos game.

I admit he isn't the player he used to be, but he is clearly our best option at DE.

Fact is, I don't care about tackle and sack stats. I go by what I see.

When a big game is on the line, Ware has habitually disappeared his whole career. He racks up stats against inferior opponents in the first halves of games, and we call him great for it. He is not in the same league as Charles Haley, who was usually quiet for three quarters, then took over the
game in the fourth.

from Aug. 2012:

Since 2005, Ware has 99.5 sacks, most in the NFL in that span. Twenty-six of those came in the fourth quarter, a half-sack more than his first-quarter total.
Third down? Ware has 36 sacks on third down, more than in any other situation.

Being the best player on a DLine that got 0 sacks and gave up 50 points and gave up over 4 ypc (excluding manning's runs) is pretty useless.

Best DE on a 30+ ranked defense is pretty useless. DeMarcus is at the stage in his career where he should be signing a one year deal with a contender to help them win a Super Bowl. He no longer has the ability to be a dominant player who is the focal point of a defense.

We all know ware is a Future HOF player . But , at this point he is hurting us more than helping us . Rbs are just going right by him and he is just not holding ANY contain .

The real question is what probability the med staff assigns to any recovery with 4 weeks rest. If his current infirmity is the result of a new injury sustained in week two or three and it is something that he can recover from with rest, then it might make sense to sit him. If it's a continuation of his end of the season issues, then I think you play him sparingly until he drops and start looking for other options.

Im shocked that so many of you have gave up on him.

He's hurt. He's still at, at worst, a top 5 defensive player in the NFL.

And now we can't build around him? Come on.

Get him healthy and he'll be back to tearing it up on the field again.

If by sitting him for two games you truly believe he will be a lot better for the remaining nine and, potentially, playoffs then, yes, sit him.

Rest him for the playoffs. With or without him we are winning the division. Focus on having him 100% for the big ones.

I would agree if this was something that would go away w time. Clearly it's not, so it's useless.

He's had this injury for years. How many offseason has he had to heal? Many...sitting a few games won't do squat.

That would be my issue with it. It doesn't appear its something that's going to do any good so why bother?

He is not, at worst, a top 5 defensive player in the league. Top 5 pass rusher is debatable but top 5 defensive, period? No way.

Ware is absolutely NOT a top 5 defensive player right now.

Let's not kid ourselves

Just watched the all 22 at lunch. He had a couple of pressures and a few decent stops, but also left the edge unsealed - a lot. On most passing downs he danced harmlessly with the tackle. They didn't really have to double cover him much either. On the other hand, Wilber seems to be over-matched by TE's - he was far far worse.

We need to build around lee and church . Ware is not a top 5 defender anymore .

This past weekend I give much of the credit for not sacking Peyton to Peyton. The guy was getting the ball out of there quick. When the QB is releasing the ball at 3 sec or under from the time the ball is snapped it is damn hard to get there in time to get the sack.

He may have not been great this or last year but we have to play him. But we need to be looking at a long term replacement now.
