We Will Still Win 9+ Games, Believe That

Loser mentality. It ain't over till it's over.

Y'all do realize that we haven't won a game yet without Tony Romo? And he's still out for like 5 more games. And this week we play the defending NFC champions. And many fans are chalking Sunday's game up as a W. And I'm the delusional one with a loser mentality?

It's not a loser mentality. It's a reality. I've just accepted it before most of y'all have

What has Miami done that makes you assume we'd lose that one? You say we'll win @ Buffalo, but the Bills won in Miami 41-14... I do think it will be a tough game, although I expect the stadium to be half filled with Dallas fans, and I expect the boost we get from Romo returning will be enough to send the Cowboys' fans home happy...

The Panthers and Cam Newton, are they really all that scarey? Not to me... I pencilled this game in as win before the season, and nothing's changed in my mind... They have a good running game and so do we... They have a good defense and so do we... But we've got Romo, and they've got Cam... We've got Dez Bryant, and they've got Ted Ginn Jr... No reason we shouldn't expect to win this one...

And the Jets? Fitzpatrick is about the same as Cassel... The Jets have a good defense, but I wouldn't expect their offense to be able to keep pace against our defense.

I bet you were also one of those individuals also penciling in wins against the "lowly" Saints and Giants. How'd that turn out? When your team has laid an egg four straight with Romo & Dez out...one has to roll their eyes at such blind optimism. The last four games are going to be indicative of the others going forward. I hope I eat crow, and no, Im not oneof those who believes the team should pack it in. They should pull their heads out of their collective ***** and fight to the end, but there's nothing we've seen from this team so far that should warrant any optimism that they're going to pull off even one win with their key players out.

This is all I was tying to say

I didn't pencil in anything once Romo went down... I knew it would be a struggle without Romo... I figured we'd go 3-4 or 2-5 without him, and we can still do that...

You're quoting things I said in regards to games that will take place after Romo and Dez are back, but you're citing games that were played without them as reasons why I'm wrong... One has to roll their eyes at such a lack of comprehension. And what's with this "your team" stuff? Are they not also "your team"? Or are they only "your team" when they're 12-4?

The last four games are going to be indicative of the others going forward.

There are lots of reasons to believe that past results are not necessarily indicative of future outcomes...

Dez will probably be back this week, that definitely changes things... Cassel has only played one game, and he looked considerably better than Weeden... We would've killed the Giants without the turnovers... If Cassel can limit his interceptions, then we can definitely defeat the Eagles and Bucs, with an outside shot at beating the Seahawks... Did I mention Dez coming back? Hardy and McClain have only been back for 2 of the 4 losses, one of which we were just over-matched without Romo, and in the other most recent game the defense only surrendered 13 points. Things have changed since Ro and Hardy have started playing... Things will change equally on offense once Dez gets back... And once Romo gets back, this becomes the best team we've had in the Romo era.

What should warrant optimism? The Cowboys have played 4+ games without Romo, and 5+ games without Dez... But despite playing without our 2 best players for 4+ games, and facing 3 teams with a collective record of 16-4 during that 4 game span, the Cowboys still rank #9 in Total Offense, #8 in Total Defense, #7 in Rushing Yards per Game, #6 in Yards per Carry, #1 in Time of Possession, and that's with Brandon Weeden starting 3 games...

To win 9+ games the Cowboys would have to win 8 of their last 10 games....ain't happening!

What the heck does that have to do with anything? 0-4 without Romo. But hey, keep salivating over these worthless stats. Total offense? Please. Most of that "total offense" happens between the 20s, you know, the area of the field where you don't put points on the board? Here's a stat for you -- red zone efficiency. And without even looking, I'll bet we're total garbage in that department.

Only if you're only looking at the final score. There was plenty on Sunday to warrant optimism.

He asked what is there to be optimistic about, I think it shows reason to believe that even without Romo and Dez we're still better than teams like the Eagles and Bucs. Yes, we're 0-4 without Romo, but other than the Saints, they faced 3 teams with winning records, and they didn't get their doors blown off (for the most part)... I agree that many of those yards on offense took place between the 20's, but that was without our redzone monster Dez Bryant, and it looks like he'll get back as early as this week... With Bryant back, you'll have less drives stall outside the redzone, and more drives ending TD's, and alas there's more reason to believe that we can defeat teams like the Eagles and Bucs... If we didn't have the remedy for what ails us, then I wouldn't be so optimistic, but we have the cure, and it's on the way...

We'll end up playing really, really well the last couple games but will be out of the playoffs....Our luck.
