I bet you were also one of those individuals also penciling in wins against the "lowly" Saints and Giants. How'd that turn out? When your team has laid an egg four straight with Romo & Dez out...one has to roll their eyes at such blind optimism.
I didn't pencil in anything once Romo went down... I knew it would be a struggle without Romo... I figured we'd go 3-4 or 2-5 without him, and we can still do that...
You're quoting things I said in regards to games that will take place after Romo and Dez are back, but you're citing games that were played without them as reasons why I'm wrong... One has to roll their eyes at such a lack of comprehension. And what's with this "your team" stuff? Are they not also "your team"? Or are they only "your team" when they're 12-4?
The last four games are going to be indicative of the others going forward.
There are lots of reasons to believe that past results are not necessarily indicative of future outcomes...
Dez will probably be back this week, that definitely changes things... Cassel has only played one game, and he looked considerably better than Weeden... We would've killed the Giants without the turnovers... If Cassel can limit his interceptions, then we can definitely defeat the Eagles and Bucs, with an outside shot at beating the Seahawks... Did I mention Dez coming back? Hardy and McClain have only been back for 2 of the 4 losses, one of which we were just over-matched without Romo, and in the other most recent game the defense only surrendered 13 points. Things have changed since Ro and Hardy have started playing... Things will change equally on offense once Dez gets back... And once Romo gets back, this becomes the best team we've had in the Romo era.
I hope I eat crow, and no, Im not oneof those who believes the team should pack it in. They should pull their heads out of their collective ***** and fight to the end, but there's nothing we've seen from this team so far that should warrant any optimism that they're going to pull off even one win with their key players out.
What should warrant optimism? The Cowboys have played 4+ games without Romo, and 5+ games without Dez... But despite playing without our 2 best players for 4+ games, and facing 3 teams with a collective record of 16-4 during that 4 game span, the Cowboys still rank
#9 in Total Offense, #8 in Total Defense, #7 in Rushing Yards per Game, #6 in Yards per Carry, #1 in Time of Possession, and that's with Brandon Weeden starting 3 games...
