This weekend it is going to be a high of 24 and a low of 10. I can’t wait to get out of ND and back to SoCal!
Those are the worst. I have no problem driving in snow storms as long as I can still make out the road, but there's really no answer for those melt then freeze ice affairs. We're experiencing a really bizarre late fall/early winter: unseasonably mild temperatures (20's - high 40's), lot's of rain below 5,000 ft and both flash flood and avalanche warnings.
At these temperatures, we get a lot of freeze/thaw cycles resulting in a lot of ice... very unsafe driving conditions. We need a hard freeze with snow.
If you live near Ketchum, say hello to Peter Cetera. It was 67 degrees today.....in Idaho.......in December. Unreal.
I saw a meteorological map this morning showing a very sharp line of demarcation in eastern MT where temperatures west of the line were in the 30's and 40's, while on the west an article blast drop the temperatures to 0 F and below. A 30-40 degree temperatures change in the span of a very few miles!Back in Minot, ND for the week. It is now up to negative 10 and won’t get above 0 until Sunday!
