Yes, he was. And it should have been expected.

What disappointed me more was the apparent reliance on him.

I get the run game was stifled by a good Arizona D, but the fact is that we didn't look like we were interested in coming up with run solutions to beat their strength.

We took the easy route and the more comfortable route, which meant passing the football.

All in all, the gameplan left a lot to be desired.

Had the defense not played over it's head, this would have been a blowout.

You know, we never tried to run the ball down their throat. They stopped us on 4th down, but we were breaking off 6-10 yards runs quite a bit. I would have loved to see us run on all 3 downs at least once. Even if the first two downs got us only 3 yards. Thats how you wear a defense down. Keep running even when it doesnt seem to be working that great. Murray had 19 carries. This is the game where he should have had 30.

Weeden was really bad this game, forcing throws, missing open receivers and not reading the defense or seeing the field properly.

Sure, the Arizona defense frustrating the run game was a factor but it was obvious to most that the Cardinals would do as such.

I agree, the offensive game plan was poor, considering the QB playing and what the Arizona defense would probably try to take away.

Don't even know why Weeden is still in the NFL. The guy completely sucks and doesn't seem to care when the fans are booing the hell out of him. Yet he makes several hundred thousand a year. Good job Jerry.

one of the worst Cowboy QB performance I've seen in a long time. if it wasn't for a few runs and penalties we never would of made it past midfield. The main problem was Weeden focusing on one guy and still not making a good throw. Its not like he didn't have wide open guys to throw to.

I was there so didn't see many replays but it seemed like he locked on to his primary read. I never really saw him go through his progression of receivers and very rarely threw to his blind side/ left side of the field.

Me too

How about the play where he tries badly to hit Dez on a square in and has Beasely wide open 4 yards closer right in front. Beasely had a lane to turn the corner for big yards.

If you're going to feed the beast at all costs like Detroit does, you have to make money throws like Stafford does..

In Weedens defense he probably is decent in practice without a rush or emotions on the sideline. That's all the coaches have to go off. Great arm talent who can place it perfectly when there's no pressure. The throws he completed against Wash and today were either wide open like to Witten on Monday or garbage time with back shoulder to Dez.

QB is mental and like we've seen with Mo in the secondary being at an elite level in game and practice are 2 different things. I wouldn't be opposed to Vaughn but we all know physically he's not ready compared to the reps Weedens had. Perhaps like Tony he's a gamer and would relish the opportunity. Weeden is scared of the moment when things aren't perfect.

There's a reason there's only a few elite of the elite QBs in the entire world literally thinking about all those who play HS, then College, then NFL. There's only 1% who have what it takes to play well at this level consistently. We're lucky we've got one when healthy.

I agree, his peformance today was so bad. If im a hc of gm i would think hard about cutting him...he is that useless. I would rather use the roster spot on a different player.

Well, he was a first round draft pick.

I can only imagine how bad Aikman wanted to come out of the booth and relieve Weeden. Heck, I think Garrett could have suited up and played better.

However, this is the 2nd straight week that the Cowboys should have used RB & WR screens to combat the blitz and soften the defense, but failed to do so (I only remember the one screen pass to Dunbar that went 40 yards.)

And Brad Johnson. For that matter, Reggie Collier, Kevin Sweeney, Clint Stoerner and even Babe Laufenburg.

Oh, no, not Babe Laufenberg. He's the only Cowboy QB I've seen who is worse than Weeden. Those other guys -- yeah, I'd take them over Weeden.

I was scratching my head the day we picked him up. He is TERRIBLE. I would say he might not even be serviceable. Hopefully, Romo is back AND BACK HEALTHY soon and we don't have to address this issue any further. Yikes he was bad.

He could of had witten for the first down.

Here is were Tony would have worked his magic by scrambling away from the guy in front heading towards the x

And would of hit Escobar I believe for a TD cause Romo would have slipped thru and rolled left

Just a few I noticed and they are more but these here all happened while the score was 14-10 in the 3Q. Our defense played well enough to win and gave the offense plenty of chances to score. The red zone pic hurt the worst maybe Cole scores there.

Weeden is Chad Hutchinson like. For those that don't recall, Chad and Quincy battled it out to be the starting quarterback in 2002 (Romo's Rookie year). Chad sure looked the part. Big, Blond and Rocket Arm. Had an amazing fastball (played baseball like Weeden). However, he only had a fast ball and an inaccurate fastball at that. Couldn't read defenses, couldn't take anything off the ball and was a golden surfer dude. Was out of the league in about 4 years. BTW, Jerry said he was going to be the next Aikman (Jerry wasn't smart even back then).
