The 49'ers are going to be surprised. So will the rest of the NFL.

I have been wanting to say this for a long time. BOOK IT (like a realist).

Cowboys win this game.

This team would have made the playoffs the last 3 years if Garrett didn't mismanage games. This team isn't good enough to overcome bad coaching.

Exactly

The Green Bay and Detriot games were botched so bad it was not even funny. If we had those two gimmie games, we win the division

And we had over a 99% probability to win both games according to the Super computer.

The odds of winning the lottery or being struck by lighting are higher than us losing both of those games.

You can't make this stuff up.......LOL

It makes sense to hold Garrett responsible for allowing Hamilton to be out there in crunchtime vs Detroit.

I still think the defense giving up 5 straight TD is not his 'fault.' Lawrence, Sims, and Heath are what were on the roster. Romo did check out of runs and throw interceptions.

To win this game could really set a tone for the rest of the season. Losing it will also set a tone - same old, same old.

Harbaugh inherited a terrific situation when he was hired. They were stacked with young talent and Singletary has instilled a sense of discipline in the team.

Garrett inherited the opposite. He got a bunch of older, overpaid underachievers with a strong sense of entitlement. The team's discipline was nonexistent due to cupcake HC Wade Phillips. On the current 90 man roster, less than 10 players were here when Garrett took over.

Garrett didn't inherit the culture - he was a part of it. He was the assistant head coach of the team under Phillips, and had enough stroke within the walls to get Felix Jones when his head coach wanted Chris Johnson, and Hudson Houck as the line coach when Phillips was interested in Mike Solari.

As the assistant head coach, doesn't he have a responsibility to work to enact change when he sees something wrong? To discipline his charges when they don't play well? In 2010, his offense was the most mistake prone, sloppy unit on the team, yet it was Wade Phillips who was to blame, while Garrett "inherited" the situation.

The revisionist history when it comes to Jason Garrett is mind boggling.

I see us winning this game if the offense can control the clock and score...SF isn't built on the home run so if our offense controls the tempo, we win as SF won't have the ball enough to win...the defense just has to gets some stops on 3rd down and force some punts....I see a win and as of right now, I see something like 34-27

There also is something to be said about in-line command development. Isolating on excuses still has a zero meter range of observation.

One still must add up the pluses...even if you don't like it.

I'll give you my prediction after I have had a chance to watch the front seven starters on defense play together. ;)

Good read. Until we see that we don't know what we have to stop the quality teams. Last year we made do with some off the street pickups, and this year we have added Melton, and some promising ( training camp standouts) but real game, these are our best will show us whether we
are once again " swiss cheese" or actually capable of stopping an end of the half / we just scored, let them march down the field / end of game drive by the opposition...

Here is my prediction Gore 220 yards rushing kapernick75 yards rushing SF time of possession 41 minutes to our 19 minutes. Final 41-28. Not nearly as close as it looks. We throw 48 passes and run 7 times. NOW if by some miracle we run 30-35 times we would be right in it. No confidence in our head coach to make that happen.

Cowboys win this game.

Wouldn't shock me at all.

Then we'll drop the next 2 against TN and St Louis.

That's how this team rolls.

I know most people are counting this game as a loss, and I understand why. But personally, I think this game may be more winnable than most people think. Our offense is more dynamic than San Francisco's offense is. I'm not as sold as many people are on Kaepernick being the real deal. If our run defense is at least decent we have a great chance in this game.

I agree with everything except us having a "great" chance in this game. I do think SanFran has a solid all-around team but agree that Kap is horribly overrated. I fear that their OL and RBs will smack our DL and LBs in the mouth where we'll wilt in the second half. Not sure Kap will even have to throw the ball much.
Personally, the best chance I think we have of winning is due to the mere fact that week 1 always has a lot of upsets, hopefully we're one of them this year.

I have a feeling that we win against SF and still manage to go 8-8 this year. :( It's the Jerry Curse.
