This is just my perception, but whenever the camera pans to him on the sideline I get the since he's nervous or the lights are too bright for him. As anyone else had this observation?
RE: #18
Are you sure they aren't actually showing Dak on the screen?

Cowboys used a costly 3rd round pick on WR Jalen Tolbert. Fans were told Jalen Tolbert was looking great and would be a big part of this 2022 Cowboys offense.

We're in Week 8 and at the end of October. Where is Jalen Tolbert? He's been inactive most of the past 7 games. When is he going to play and be a part of this season? The Cowboys offense is struggling, has several receivers injured and is in need of some help.

Where's the beef? Where's the help? Where is our costly 3rd round draft pick?

I agree with you 100 % . Where is a 3rd round pick when your looking to spice up an offense with Gallup trying to round back into form from a major injury . And someone brought up Gallup which is a good comparison he’s from a small school Colorado St Tolbert South Alabama .

Michael Gallup rookie yr 500 plus yards 33 catches and 2 TD’s. . Tolbert needs to get on the field to approach any of those numbers in 2022. Let’s stop this fantasy football fixation that some team is going to throw the franchise a “ # 1 receiver type “ without gutting your draft and taking on an Amari Cooper type contract . Get Tolbert and James Washington on the field if not Sunday then after bye week .

Tolbert is currently a ball in high grass... lost.
Disappointing but the light can turn on any moment now.
Personally, I think he’s too soft to be an NFL WR.
A full year in the weight room may help.

I get everyone's responses, but how are you going to learn and improve if you don't even step on the field even 1 time? So we used a costly 3rd round pick to contribute next year in 2023, not this year? Is this what 3rd round picks today are supposed to be used for even though we need the help at WR right now?
I’m with you, the people that say give it a couple of years I just don’t understand. They sold us Tolbert all offseason, so much so that people had him as a possible number 2 wr. So when he’s not even activated on the game day roster is truly disappointing. I always took a wait and see approach because I thought that his build up was a distraction to the Cooper trade. Right now that our 3 rd pick is a game day scratch in a position of need is not good I don’t care how you look at it.

Noah Brown has had years upon years here to develop here.. Tolbert is only a rookie.

- As of right now, we dunno what the cause for Tolbert’s stalled delay as a rookie.
It’s unfortunate as he was summed up to be an NFL ready polished WR despite a smaller school level.

- And it was likely the Tennessee game against SEC level competition that helped elevate Tolbert’s draft stock.

- Much was probably expected out Tolbert early on.
Supposedly the Cowboys had a 2nd round grade on Tolbert, and according to Bobby Belt, but Cowboys were fortunate to snag in 3rd round.

- So because of his draft status ,there was an impression the rookie would be able to help us in some areas and spot play.
Expectations to Tolbert, is what Steelers are getting from 2nd rd pick rookie WR George Pickens

- One was thought to be as far as even the No.2 while Gallup recovered.
How much can be contributing too much, too hard of a learning curve ?
How much is it that he’s been tentative and more softer than expected ?

- Maybe his rookie year will be a wash out, maybe he’ll develop and improve by light years next year.
But I would not wait for him to develop as far as our future plans.
I’d still go full fast forward with seeking more WRs and bargain vet FAs next offseason.

I thought someone posted the other a stat on current 3rd round WR stats (picked this year). It wasn't impressive.

think noah browns emergence quelled the urgency in his development. yes you'd like to see a premium pick contribute sooner than later, but it's not the end of the world presently.

I’d like to see a list of some guys we passed over to take him. Good receivers especially.

with only two months having been played, and only a surface level knowledge of most of the later round guys... the only ones that potentially jump off the screen are a handful of running backs, woolen, zappe and i suppose romeo doubs

He will play when he’s ready to play it seems. We are playing great ball despite a few high stock picks not playing. Joseph, Tolbert, etc

He should have been ready by now with the lack luster WR group we have. They kept talking him up during training camp as a possible starter and he’s having trouble just making the game day roster So far he’s been a bust. We’re not playing great on offense we’re winning with defense. I’m sure if the Cowboys had a do over they would take another player instead of Tolbert.

I think one of the problems is that many had really high hopes for the kid (possibly unfairly). If anyone was paying attention at TC, he wasn't lighting up the world there, either. It make him some time to adjust and he may be a bust. I think it's too early to tell, right now. Miles Austin didn't exactly light up the stats sheet his first couple of seasons here either (he was almost cut in favor of Sam Hurd). Austin turned out alright. Time will tell.

you are correct. We are not so incredibly deep with talent at the WR position that Tolbert can be tucked away for a couple years to gain experience through osmosis.

It’s stupid. Everyone knows there are many. Except you guess which isn’t surprising.

Didn't mean to ruffle your idiot feathers by laughing at y'alls exchange. My apologies sir
