That basically means nothing at all and it is easily proven. We understand your opinions are jaded by past failures, but in the real world the past has no bearing on a game. If it did, the exact same team would win every single time teams faced and the Champion would never change.

And my basis for saying I think the Cowboys will go 3-2/2-3 actually has more to do with their schedule than anything else. But there is some psychological aspects too. No way it's just coincidence that the Cowboys have dominated in November and then down the stretch fold in Dec/Jan. Winners and contenders tend to kick it into another gear at that time. The Cowboys over the last decade, not so much.

You act like all teams just start from scratch each year and it's just a blind crapshoot. Yep, I'm just stunned the Colts are leading their division again while the Lions are once again one of the worst teams in the league. Whodathunk?

And yeah, some teams can make strides from year to year while others may decline, but overall, there are certain trends, whether or not you're wise enough to notice.
