Some people think you can just move players from one scheme to another and expect the same production. Doesn't happen that way.

Tell that to Benson Mayowa and Randy Gregory (if he ever sees the field again). Sure didn't stop the Cowboys then.

stop blaming mara it makes you look even more foolish.

Side note what did you scalp your seats for? I hope you enjoyed your profit there were giants fans all over the building.

That Mayowa sack was inside 2 minutes. Why wasn't it reviewed?

You could throw an illegal contact flag on Janoris Jenkins every snap. I guess that's not a point of emphasis this year.

Why is JPP allowed to line up in the neutral zone every snap? Is there some sort of rule that you need at least 9 fingers to encroach?

It was another poorly officiated game, but I'm not sure it really favored either side.

I'm not sure your examples are proving (or disproving) anything. It's not like the Cowboys would have never drafted Watt and attempted to switch him. If he's there in Round 2 you definitely take the chance. If Taco's gone in round 1, they might have taken the chance.

Then look again, until it clicks for you.

And now we'll see if they - and you and your rankings - are right or wrong.

For those keeping score, Watt's ahead.

Personally, I'm not jumping to any conclusions after one game, but I'm not going to cover my eyes to anything either.

Not a bad idea. In fact, we should consider waiting a few years. After their rookie seasons, it was still possible to argue, and many did, that Merriman would have been a better pick than Ware.

That's definitely the way to go, and that's what I'm trying to do. I like the improvement I've seen from Taco and one game isn't anything to form a decision on.

Watt jumped ahead at the start of the preseason too, but Taco continued to improve.

I have two sets of tickets. I covered all of next season for one of the pair, and about 1/4th for the other. Good times.

Karma is a thing that rhymes with itch and seeks those who like to snitch.

Puppet master Mara, try as he might, failed to scrape the Zekeness from the Cowboys attack last night, and as insult to that injury, Mara suffered the loss of his premier prima donna. Goldilocks watched from the sideline has his overhyped and misevaluated Giants staggered to 49 yards by halftime and notched 3 whopping points on the night.

The Cowboys defense still isn't very good. But we saw the '85 Bears against that rag-tag Giants offensive line. The poor Giants offense looked like they were running on treadmills.

Brandon Marshall is doooooone. Has been for a while. Sterling Shepard is a slot guy that needs a No. 1. Engram is a rookie toy that needed to be an offensive lineman in this past draft. Those running backs couldn't make the Cowboys practice squad.

The Giants defense stood tall for a while, but they looked like hammered doo-doo by about the middle of the second quarter. They was gassed, bubba. Zeke and the o-line just pounded them over and over and over. The punctuator was a collision between Zeke and Landon Collins, and the Giants star safety got much the worst of it. Something inside said that was it.

Last night's glory wasn't without flaws. The entire NFL looked like junk on a stick yesterday in Week One. These teams just aren't ready yet.

First, the good performances that stood out:
  • The offensive line. La'el Collins fought his tookus off all night, and Chaz Green did, too. Kudos to both young lads. The other three were their typical wonderful selves.
  • Sean Lee. I could watch that guy play forever.
  • Jaylon Smith. Congratulations, young man. That was a true tribute to all your hard work, and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with how you played.
  • Jeff Heath. That guy was everywhere, making tackles all over the place. Didn't make a mistake that I noticed.
  • Anthony Brown. What a terrific draft pick.
  • Maliek Collins. Gonna be great for along time.
  • Demarcus Lawrence. Just dominated the Giants weak right tackle. Looked really quick.
  • Zeke. Yep, he makes a huge difference. Those tough runs just demoralize opponents. I wish he'd drop about 8-10 pounds though.
  • Dan Bailey. True as they come.
  • Chris Jones. Punt after punt to pin them back. Played a huge role last night.
  • Nolan Carroll. I didn't notice you, which is a good thing. That deserves mention.
Now for the not-so-good:
  • Dak Prescott. Calm down, young man. You were misfiring all over the place. I'm not worried about it at all, however. I'll chalk that up to eagerness and rust after a CBA-crappy camp.
  • Taco Charlton. If you can't beat Flowers, it's going to be a tough year. Don't think we didn't see TJ Watt's two sacks and interception.
  • Benson Mayowa. See Taco.
What a great evening. In fact, I'm an OU fan, so it was a truly spectacular weekend of football.

NC got lost on one play while in zone coverage. It actually scared me and I thought they would go after him, but they never did.

I said it last it last night and I still feel the same way. I don't know if Taco was even on the field last night. I mean I forgot he was even on the team until I seen his name mentioned here after the game. I know it's game one and he's a rook, but he has to be better than that. I hate that we didn't take TJW. It's going to haunt us like Moss did back in the old days.

I was fine with Benson. He looked good and made some plays. He should have been credited with a sack late in the game.

Chris Jones should've been the player of the game. He was money from start to end.

OK, I'll be less diplomatic. Those two are the dumbest examples you probably could have come up with. Neither has done much of anything in any scheme. Does that click for you?

As for keeping score, Dallas is 1-0 and Pittsburgh is 1-0 so I'm ok with the scoreboard.

Who led this sorry team in sacks last year? How does that "click"? But yeah, attempt to minimize Mayowa now in your desperate efforts.

The only eyes you can cover are your own.

Nice attempt to divert. Fail.

yea pat yourself on the back for being a scalper.

Thanks for the giants fans.

They paid a grotesque amount of money to watch their team get skulled. And I'm not sure that Giants fans bought them anyway for the opener.

If the Cowboys are going to crucify me with exorbitant PSLs (a total of $56K for my seats) just for the right to buy the tickets each year ($10,500), I have to cover myself somehow.

It's rare that my club seats sell because I put such a ridiculous price on them. It's only happened three times in five years. I've had my other seats much longer, and I sell those every game for a nice profit to cover some of my costs. They typically go 50/50 to Cowboys fans or opponents; I always peak through the binoculars.

PSLs give you almost no choice unless you just bathe in $100 bills every night and don't mind paying crazy prices. It didn't used to be this way.

Put it however you want, you are a scalper.

The cowboys didnt do this to you and you dont have to be a ticket holder.

When KC and GB roll in here in a few months guys like you will make a bunch of money while guys like me have to sit next to obnoxious visiting fans.

I've missed three games since 2009.

Can't handle it, don't go. It happens in all 32 stadiums.

Good post, but I think ZE could stand to lose 5 lbs tops. He needs some of that weight to take the game to game pounding. Just a thought.
