NO......
Collins was screwed on the roughing the QB call..
Dez was had no calls on a good 3 PI's, not called...

I did not see anything that was close to where it hurt NY on calls or non calls.

I thought the one PI in Dez's favor was BS.

JPP did exactly the same thing to Dak as Collins on the next Dallas drive and wasn't called for it. Dak happens to be a rock pile so it may not have looked as bad, but what JPP did and when he did it was the same.

I was very surprised a few blatant holds by the Giants were actually called. If they call those in the GB game I think we beat them.

I think the officiating was fair and even, but since we're so used to getting screwed, fair reffing seems like a lopsided pro-Dallas bias.

I watched a bunch of the Seattle-GB game - the Packers were still holding and still not getting called for it

Erod,

I can't say I read every single post but you're the first person to show a little love to Nolan Carroll. That took courage.

FWIW...Mayowa did get robbed of a sack.

Nolan Carroll played great. The entire secondary did.

Anthony Brown continues to show he's going to be a top corner in this league.

Going to miss Scandrick for a couple of weeks - he's finally gotten his confidence in his body back after the knee injury and he looks fit, too. I thought he looked a little thick last year...too puffy.

That Mayowa sack was inside 2 minutes. Why wasn't it reviewed?

You could throw an illegal contact flag on Janoris Jenkins every snap. I guess that's not a point of emphasis this year.

Why is JPP allowed to line up in the neutral zone every snap? Is there some sort of rule that you need at least 9 fingers to encroach?

It was another poorly officiated game, but I'm not sure it really favored either side.

JPP did appear to line up offsides fairly frequently.

Dang. I have rewatched last year's playoff game, and it's mind blowing how much choke holding they do. It looks like an MMA match in their. I don't understand not calling those.

Not nearly as courageous a Hollywood actors making films about already socially accepted personas and congratulating each other at award ceremonies celebrating how courageous they are

Look, six sacks is nothing to sneeze at. But that's hardly a standard of success in this league, especially for a DE. Nice attempt at diversion yourself.

OK, I'll be less diplomatic. Those two are the dumbest examples you probably could have come up with. Neither has done much of anything in any scheme. Does that click for you?

It looks like a clear contradiction on your part.

First the guy "hasn't done much of anything" - your words.

But now it's "nothing to sneeze at".

Again, the guy transitioned from 3-4 OLB to 4-3 DE on this very team, and led them in sacks. Precedent.

Again, my original point is that you can't just move a guy from one scheme to the next and expect the same results. 6 sacks, while it led the team, is not a standard for success as a DE in this league.

And my point is that it happens all the time. And this team has done it several times only recently. Scheme fit is a convenient excuse for them picking the wrong guy.

Or just the reason. No excuses needed. If two guys grade close you pick the one who better fits your scheme. Not rocket science.

I think it's the beer.

It falls off of you when you're 19.

It's 10 pounds of water weight when you're 22.

It's 25 pounds of fat when you're 30.

I got about an extra 5 lbs on me today

Yes it's not the same. Taco wasn't a positive factor for us last night. That's more of an issue.

Well to be fair, he didn't need to be.

I'm sure Eagle fans aren't whining much that Barnett didn't get a sack because their other more accomplished players showed up.

We should think the same..Lawrence, Mayowa and even Tapper should be further along...their progression is encouraging.

And if you're way off, recheck your grading system.

Also not "rocket science".

13-3. We just beat the team that gave us two of those losses last year. I think the grading system is ok.

"OK", sure. They've gotten more right than wrong.

But that 13-3 didn't come from the fact that they've been perfect in grading pass rushers and defensive ends. In fact, it was arguably that 13-3 team's biggest weakness.

But we both know this isn't about being 13-3 last year or beating the Giants, don't we.

The wins and losses are ultimately all it's about. I don't know why you're arguing with me since you even admitted that we can't read too much into one game. I said systems matter and you seemed to take offense from that.

No, I'm not taking offense. Nothing personal. I just have no patience for people trying to excuse the Watt selection based on scheme. Nothing more than that. And I'm willing to reserve judgement on the Taco-Watt debate. I just don't want to hear about the scheme nonsense. Watt has everything necessary to play here and there's nothing tangible anybody can point to otherwise.

That's my issue. Nothing more.

Lets see.

Do I want the massively productive player with amazing pedigree from a successful program who we'll have to figure out how to use as a a hybrid DE/OLB?

Or do we want the unaccomplished DE who couldn't get on the field until his senior year at an underperforming school?

Watt's career will probably dwarf Taco's.
