Did anyone else feel like the Giants were getting picked on by the refs and Dallas really didn't have anything significant go against us?
I thought the same thing. I know some were posting that all the calls would go against us after the Zeke court win, but I didn't think that was the case at all. In fact I thought the PI call against the Gints was ticky tacky and would have been pissed had that same call gone against us. Nope, the refs did not conspire against our Boys last night, nor will they in the future. Now, we'll get some bad calls against us as the year goes along, but it'll be because of crappy reffing rather than some officiating conspiracy.

Nice recap

My pet rock TCrawford played the run pretty well but didn't any noticeable pressure

JSmith's durablitly was promising and he should only get better

OScan needs to stop trying to be SLee and going for knockout hits

Switzer looks like a natural at PR

Zeke definitely looks a little too hefty right now. He was huffing and puffing out there - but that's somewhat expected with the lack of touches he gets in the preseason. I think his conditioning will improve in the next couple weeks, and be full-on six pack before we know it

Well, his weed smoking probably doesn't help.

Erod,

I can't say I read every single post but you're the first person to show a little love to Nolan Carroll. That took courage.

FWIW...Mayowa did get robbed of a sack.
I hate Carroll but he 100% proved me wrong yesterday. I hope I continue to be 100% wrong on him.

Who led this sorry team in sacks last year? How does that "click"? But yeah, attempt to minimize Mayowa now in your desperate efforts.

The only eyes you can cover are your own.

Nice attempt to divert. Fail.
Look, six sacks is nothing to sneeze at. But that's hardly a standard of success in this league, especially for a DE. Nice attempt at diversion yourself.

I don't know why people don't understand watt wouldn't have fit in our scheme but hey. Whatever

Sure he would have. Play him where we were planning to play Randy Gregory (who measures out almost exactly the same as Watt).

No, but I did comment to myself "so much for the refs are going to screw us conspiracy theory". Jenkins got away with PI all night. He put his body into Dez and rode him towards the sidelines on 4-5 occasions that I saw. That is supposed to be PI. You cannot alter the WRs route with your body. What was funny was that the one time they called it, it didn't look like he did anything wrong.

I was basing my comment on the game as a whole and without benefit of rewatching the game to see details. If you say Dez got mugged every play, then I'll say it's possible. I'll rewatch within a day or two. My observation is that, in general, the officiating was not biased against us. I'll stick to that opinion until I have the chance to see the game again.

To be straight, I'm not saying Watt couldn't possibly have success in our scheme. I'm saying there was more projection involved and I doubt he has two sacks and a pick as a DE in our 4-3 yesterday. His skills are ideally suited to a 3-4 and we weren't changing schemes for one guy.

Then look again, until it clicks for you.

And now we'll see if they - and you and your rankings - are right or wrong.

For those keeping score, Watt's ahead.

Personally, I'm not jumping to any conclusions after one game, but I'm not going to cover my eyes to anything either.
Meanwhile, our best pass rusher of the preseason, Dominic Moore, comes back after the Denver game.

I agree.

The PI on Jenkins that put us in position was ticky tack at best. But the refs let go at least 3 other PI's (likely more) that could easily have been called against him.

Good post, but I think ZE could stand to lose 5 lbs tops. He needs some of that weight to take the game to game pounding. Just a thought.

He can carry it now, but in a couple of years, it'll start to slow him down.

He looks like he'll be pushing 350 pounds when he's 40.

I think it's the beer.

It falls off of you when you're 19.

It's 10 pounds of water weight when you're 22.

It's 25 pounds of fat when you're 30.

And a tumor when your 50

And a colostomy bag when your 70

No one predicted such an easy victory against NY.

Still issues with Dak down field and Redzone offense but the story of the night was a defense we didn't know how it could perform with all of the changes.

But this is a victory to enjoy and not overly critic because the alternative could have been looking 0-2 in the face.

Great opener. Nice to be 1-0.

They paid a grotesque amount of money to watch their team get skulled. And I'm not sure that Giants fans bought them anyway for the opener.

If the Cowboys are going to crucify me with exorbitant PSLs (a total of $56K for my seats) just for the right to buy the tickets each year ($10,500), I have to cover myself somehow.

It's rare that my club seats sell because I put such a ridiculous price on them. It's only happened three times in five years. I've had my other seats much longer, and I sell those every game for a nice profit to cover some of my costs. They typically go 50/50 to Cowboys fans or opponents; I always peak through the binoculars.

PSLs give you almost no choice unless you just bathe in $100 bills every night and don't mind paying crazy prices. It didn't used to be this way.

I don't understand the grief you are getting. Why should Jerry be the only one making money. If people are stupid enough to pay crazy prices for tickets, why not pay them to you. People need to grow up!
