It's not a theory, exactly.

The story broke about how the someone on the team had apparently leaked the injury to the press and some other players before they told Wentz. It wasn't that they tried to hide the injury, it was that apparently they didn't handle the dissemination of information properly and that rubbed Wentz the wrong way.

At least that was the rumor.

Fair enough. I was off on the details of the story.

So Wentz got his feelings hurt because someone leaked the info?
Imagine how his feelings must be feeling watching Nick Foles show him up.

They wanted to bench him and after we beat them this became a way to let their QB rest and save face.
If they would have beaten us this back injury thing wouldn’t have been a thing.

LOL at how the Wentz hate makes some of you take such peculiar positions.

Absolutely it's a bad thing if the medical staff is telling other people and players the diagnosis before telling the player himself. Most players would be pissed at that.

Plus, the Eagles medical staff has been under fire for a few years and taken some real criticisms for bad diagnoses, missed diagnoses, failure to inform, etc.

Bench him for what?

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle .......although several players have come out in his defense, the article has quite a few quotes.

Did you not watch any pre vs post Wentz eagles games?
Philly fans have been screaming all year to throw the ball to anyone not named Ertz.
They forgot Alshon Jeffery played on the team.

Your Wentz love may make this hard to accept but many eagles fans are not sold on this guy. Foles shows fans what’s possible. The offense under Wentz struggled.

NO thanks. He's a china doll physically and mentally. Dak is limited but tough and a leader of men. Two things Carson isn't. Too bad super fans on this board and others can't see that.

You can be as strong as the haulk himself, if you aren't SB material then gtho!

LOL Wentz love.

I just wanted to understand your position here............. that the Eagles apparently wanted to bench Wentz for Foles all along and manufactured this broken back story to give them cover to bench him.

These are all conversations that can easily be had in private.

Especially with a young QB. It's not like he has achieved enough to be some kind of Aaron Rodgers type of Diva.

Philadelphia got busted for not telling him that he had a fractured back and it reportedly upset a lot of players in the locker room that they didn't tell him.

Now we start hearing the he is some kind of problem.

If the story is from a legit source then maybe they just want to keep Foles and they are trying to sell the fan base on it by doing this through the media so they can trade Wentz.

Smear then trade.
You keep repeating that the eagles didnt tell him he had. fractured ack which is patently untrue.

As you would know if you listened to Pederson's pc on the subject, the medical reports are sent to the players Dr. simultaneously so there can be no secrets. Carson was included in the decision making process for his injury.

Anything deviating from that and doing what you allege would open philly up to the biggest lawsuit ever.

There is already a thread on this.

The story has also been refuted by multiple Eagles players.

Of course Eagles players would say the PC thing, knowing that they would either get in trouble with the coaches or front office, if they confirmed this to be true. Or that they would be creating drama with the media by making Wentz look bad.

Yep. Sitting here in my Eagles boxers watching a repeat of the 2017 SB win.

Glorious!!!!!!!!!!
Suspicion confirmed! ^^^^

Sad that several Cowboys "fans" constantly side with this iggles troll on this forum.

Constantly bash on Dak, but quick to defend Wince once again?

Yep. Iggles fan. ^^^^

I mean this is the same team who built a shrine for Foles, there are most likely some players were lean more towards Foles than Wentz, but they won't come out and say it, because they already know what the Wentz vs Foles debate created and know that this would send it into overdrive. So, they're attempting to quell the drama.

Yes, just like the iggles troll regulars in here.

It's all noise that won't matter come next season.
It's lose/lose imho.
Pay Wentz, move Foles and you ramp up pressure big-time on Wentz who hasn't exactly handled pressure well.

People forget Wentz was a small school guy who was injured frequently and largely drafted solely on physical (not mental) rare traits.
Now any set back will lead to blowback.
Philly fan base is as savage as it gets and they eat their own.

If I were the Eagles GM I'd be saying exactly what the are now while trying to trade Wentz for a boat load and get Foles resigned at reasonable money.

Boat load*= recover all assets used to acquire him. Either a top 3 pick or a collection of assets equal to that.

The Eagles sold out last year to win. They overextended themselves versus the cap and traded off a lot of draft capital which reduces their margin of error to near zero in the draft.
Gonna be a tough go imho if they continue as is and the only transformative piece they could move is Wentz.

Wentz is their guy and their wagon is hitched to him. If he can stay healthy, they'll be fine. If he can't, they'll have big decisions to make in the next couple years. Choosing to go with Foles over Wentz would be a huge mistake.

Foles started the first two games this year, games the Eagles lost. He was bad in both playoff games this year. He's been bad in his extended starting gigs. They shouldn't let a few games sway them. Now, I'd be fine if they did.
