They're pretty similar actually. 0 turnovers which is the most impressive stat to me since they're both rooks.

Wentz hasn't had to play against a defense like NYG and his defense has destroyed both those terrible offenses in Cleveland and Chicago.

Dak's rating against Wash was higher than either of Carson's games, and his YPA in that game was a full 2 yards better than Carson's best so far. Carson also only averaged 5.3 YPA against Chicago but with that defense i don't think they were really trying to do much.

The most impressive difference right now is that we had a 59% 3rd down conversion rate against NYG, in Dak's first game as a pro. 50% against Wash. Eagles were 33% against the Browns, and 40% against Chicago. We're 2nd in in the NFL in 3rd down conversions, that's pretty amazing.

Well said. I'd say Dak has been a bit more impressive through two games, but .... it's only been two games. It'll be fun to watch these two over the next few years.

It'll be really funny if the media is building up to a Dak vs Wentz battle when we meet them for the first time ... and then Romo is named the starter for the Cowboys. So many story lines the media will blow a gasket.

Is there anyone in football who would take Cousins over either one of them? Poor Commanders.

There is no doubting that Wentz is a specimen. He's big strong, and those passes sure looked pretty.
However, there should be absolutely no doubt that the Cowboys got the better value.

When is the last time a STRONG ARM won a superbowl??

Manning could hardly throw last year and he won the SB. Manning never had a cannon, just a good arm. Brady doesn't have a cannon, just a good arm. Wilson doesn't have a cannon, just an ok arm.

Who cares that Wentz has a cannon? Luck has a cannon. How is that doing for him?

Give me touch and pocket and spatial awareness over a cannon, EVERY DAY and twice on Tuesday.

Wentz is the full package.

It's not that he has a big arm, is mobile, big, or a hard worker off the field... It's the combination of everything. He is an elite elite prospect.

Dak and Wentz will get a couple of chances to face off and I'm sure the comparison will be taking place after each meeting. I liked Wentz heading into the draft and have nothing negative to say about him other than he is with the eagles so clearly I will not be pulling for him to have great success. lol

As for Dak I think if he continues to work and really hits the film room the Cowboys will end up with the steal of this draft.

Lol risen fool me..

I was the pioneer on this forum for Wentz. I was calling for him at pick 4 when people were still projecting him in the 2nd or 3rd.

I don't think I've ever seen the media go so gah-gah over a QB that threw for a whopping 190 yards against the Bears.

Wentz is surely an impressive athlete. He's got a cannon for an arm and seems to understand a complex WCO system already. But, I think he has some massive holes in his game, particularly his inability to read blitzes and avoid big time hits in the pocket. People like to romanticize the QB that 'hangs in there to take the hit', but it doesn't lead to long careers and the best QB's hang in there and still find a way to avoid the hit.

Also, I think Wentz has some poor throwing mechanics that usually causes his passes to sail on him or skip off the turf badly. While one can correct those mechanics over time, Wentz doesn't appear to have made any real improvement during training camp and then was injured in preseason. And when you start guys like him right away, they may never get it. Dak has made a dramatic turnaround in his mechanics and he’s at the point where they seem to creep up from time to time, but for the most part he has them down pat.

The other thing is that Dak and Wentz had different mechanical issues. Dak’s was a footwork problem and Wentz’s is a windup issue (and I’m not nutty about his footwork either). My belief is that footwork is easier to improve. You might see a QB struggle to change his footwork in a WCO, but in general with an offseason of work they can make the adjustment to their footwork. Throwing motion issues are a different animal. It’s hard for QB’s to adjust to how they throw the ball. Look at QB’s like Jason Campbell, Byron Leftwich, etc…they never really adjusted their windup and it was always a problem for them. I don’t think Wentz quite has their big windup, but you can see it from time to time and the ball is poorly thrown.

What Wentz has going for him is a good defense and likely a very good offensive mind at head coach. That can keep him off the field and put him in advantageous situations where receivers get wide open and he’s throwing a lot of high percentage passes.

That wasn't for me but
Come on CC
RG3 and Wentz are similar to you?
Exactly the same

1. both drafted #2
2. Wentz takes all those stupid hits that RG3 takes (already had an injury in preseason)
3. the majority of his passes vs the Bears were less than 5 yards from the line of scrimmage, the lone TD pass was behind the line.
4. poor throwing mechanics
5. Both could throw a nice deep ball.
6. Trouble reading blitzes

Let's not forget he has played 2 very weak teams so far, those come off at the top of my head
