So they had Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick expressing public interest. They had conversations with Deion Sanders. They have the funds to literally buy their pick of college coaches, or retired coaches such as Gruden....and their top two were Kellen Moore and Brian Schotenheimer? Because they want their 31 year old, 9 year professional franchise Quarterback to feel more comfortable? Are you kidding me? Dak is an established veteran. He should be able to adjust to whoever comes in to coach this team, and these clowns are buying lesser assets to cater to 1 of 53. That makes my stomach turn, bro. I think I'm going to take this offseason to reconsider where my loyalties lie. 37 years a fan. Never, EVER thought it would come to this. Un freakin real.

Can you find another qb around the league that has been coddled to this extent? With the exception of a few tweaks he’s been in the same system for nearly a decade. When Mike McCarthy was hired, Dak demanded Moore stay on to keep the same offense. Now again it’s being reported continuity for Dak was a factor in the HC decision. You cannot find a qb in the NFL who has gotten his way like this under multiple coaching staffs.
aaron fraudgers hand picked mccarthy's replacement in green bay.
they are all coddled.

So the Jones's didn't want to make any significant changes....to make Dak more comfortable.

I mean, why would they want to change anything?

Apparently, Dak's comfort is a priority. We don't want him to feel pressured. This is why Cooper Rush will be replaced by a 7th round pick. Cooper was becoming just a little too efficient.

We have an anchor on this franchise at the QB position — we are forced to endure an incompetent buffoon at HC for four years because he at least will keep our remedial QB from having to learn a new offense. Dak’s contract is a curse on this franchise.

The Cowboys decided to promote OC Brian Schottenheimer over waiting for former OC Kellen Moore - coaching NFC Championship Game with Eagles Sunday - at least partly because they viewed his personality as more capable of commanding the room in terms of demanding accountability and establishing leadership.

Continuity of offensive system and positive history with Dak Prescott other factors.

This is sooooo much better/positive than letting Dak play this season without a new contract, get hurt, not waste a 4th round pick, tank, and start over with a top rookie QB & HC.

I’m sorry did he just say accountability!?! Umm just asking but if Jerry wants his coaches to hold his players accountable then why hasn’t that happened in the last 29 years?

This idea of Dak friendly crap is complete bull crap. They made him the highest paid player in NFL history. With 60 million APY he can stand to be uncomfortable and learn a new offense. If he’s smart enough to do it. I’m starting to believe Dak might be too dumb to learn a new offense and they know this. But don’t talk about accountability as a factor when anyone who has watched the NFL the last 25 years knows there has been no accountability in Dallas at all.

This move to hire Schottenheimer was made to coddle the 3 biggest babies in Cowboys history, scratch that NFL history, Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones and Dak. Stephen and Jerry want to stay in their comfortable bubbles and they want Dak as comfortable as possible on the cheapest contract for a coach. Why are you going to pay a QB (regardless of talent level or who it is) 60 million APY and then cheap out on the coaches and the supporting players? Why are you going to pay CD Lamb 30+ million APY to cheap out on the coaches and support players? There is absolutely no logic to going cheap with the coaching staff outside of Jerry and Stephen’s extreme insecurity issues.

Accountability, ha, what a flipping joke.

We already had a predictable offense and this shows it will remain the same. We have one playmaker in CeeDee and that's it.

No number 2 WO, no running back that truly scares anyone, a weak O line and a regressing TE.

Folks, we are hosed. Our talent is getting worse every year not better. Look at the GM/Owners box. That is the problem. No head coach can win against anyone when there is no talent beyond one plsyer.

Making Dak comfortable for the last 9 years has gotten exactly crap to show for it. So let’s keep giving him warm milk and cookies for doing diddly for the franchise.

Besides there not being a brain cell in the entire FO, apparently there doesn’t appear to be anyone with an honest to goodness ball sack either.

Cowboys!

The Dallas Cowboys just hired a coach to appease a 31 year old QB coming off his second major lower limb injury. That QB was already slowing down before the latest injury. That QB at his best was never quite elite. Most knowledgeable FB people will tell you that he is not nearly as good as he was at his best. He may be the highest paid player in NFL history but he is not nearly the best currently in the league. He is not even the best player on the Cowboy roster. I fear team is worse off than when we had MM as coach. I think this is a step backwards. I hope I am wrong but....

Has nothing to do with Dak. It's all about Jerry, having total control, which he now has
If it was a Dak deal, they would have brought moore in
I've never seen a owner/GM make this many stupid moves in just a matter of a couple years.
