I am a big TY Hilton fan. He's a fit here. We must resign him. Then draft a guy like Parker Washington from Penn State at 58. That might be a bit high but he makes plays.

not really. Dak is what he is- an average to good quarterback. Where he gets into trouble is when he gets too aggressive. He’s shown he can play at elite levels for stretches but not consistently. Where dak and the cowboys get into trouble is by giving dak free reign for him to try and prove he’s an elite guy. Most Quarterbacks need to be managed- Parcells tried to do this with Romo and simms . Holmgren with Favre. Etc. it’s pretty common in the nfl.

We are much better when he can carry the team occasionally but not feel like he has to every week because he probably can’t. By nature Of who he is he’s going to want to try and be the reason we win. It’s up to McCarthy to manage the game and get dak to believe less is more. It’s the same strategy that worked in 2016 but obviously now he can handle a bigger load but maybe not as much as kellen gave him…there’s a happy medium.

It’s up to McCarthy and the staff and dak himself to check their egos at the door and That’s what coaches do - manage egos. Welcome to sports.
Excellent post CT

He can say anything right now, we've been filled with a lot these years. I hear you, but let's just stop talking and show results through our play and game prep
results would be nice. I agree.

Or maybe MIKE knew the problem was the OC...not all on the players...
By nature a quarterbacks natural instinct is going to be ; go win this game with my arm. They are incredibly confident in their abilities. When the oc is a guy who was a quarterback and loves the pass- it has potential to be a recipe for disaster. It’s like a drug addict living with a dealer.

Dak is not without his fault of course, he’ll need to do some real self reflection and humble himself and get much better with his decision making. He needs to realize that he doesn’t need to try and prove he’s an elite quarterback by putting up gaudy numbers but by winning games.

Less will be more.

It was the passing game that was the problem. The Cowboys could not execute in numerous critical moments. Expect to see as much designed runs with a good dose of short passes deployed as an extension of the running game. Moore called too many downfield routes in passing situations and Dak was just not able to locate the open guy at times, particularly with pressure in his face.

shock jocks stink because u only get a grain of truth every so often. I miss the days of actual journalism and integrity, when it mattered. Now its just ugly and unwatchable. I guess I'm dating myself.
I don’t know if you are a NBA fan but Giannis was on the Daily show on the comedy channel joking about KD. Skip and Shannon ripped him apart like he threatened to hurt KD or something. It’s a shame what is going on with national media now.

Dak needs to decide...stats vs. SB ring.

I don't really feel bad for Zeke if we move on from him. Pollard, it will depend on the doctors. The injury was unfortunate. Obviously, he was the better RB. Keep drafting fast RBs that can read a gap and have a couple moves in the open field. Focus on the big boys up front. Keep adding them.

Trust me it wasn’t obvious for a lot of people on this forum that Pollard was better.

I believe Jerry and son think you have to win like they did in the 90s. They also think that being a running team is what the fans will galvanize around (and spend for). This is what makes an already running team’s coach say something so stupid as we need to not light up the scoreboard and run it to help the defense.

Werder’s numbers are what we already knew. So does the coach and owners.

Most fans will twist themselves into pretzels to show that yes, they did run it heavily and well, but just not quite the right way. Whatever.

Question: since coach Mac’s history doesn’t match what he is stating about running the ball more, then who do you think is influencing or even dictating this revelation to pound the rock even more?
And everyone here acts as if 2016 never happened. With a better, younger o line, SAME RB AND QB.
This aint anything new. Linehan did it. Got the t-shirt already.
Mac Cheese ain't re-inventing the wheel here and like you said, he sure as heck aint known as this running game guru.
Just because now this year's scapegoat is out of the building, Mac thinks he can run a PR campaign of saying all the proper feel good coach speak to appease his head coach boss Jerry.
Damage control is all it is.
Prelude to a storm.
Don't be surprised when all this stuff shows as a team incapable of running effectively, is forced to pass more and whose QB is not up for that challenge.
Why is all the talk about getting another receiver and they're fixing to run the ball more? Doesn't make sense.
Be prepared, cuz karma is a b_ _ _h.

When a HC has to save a QB from himself then the issue isn;t the running game or the recently dismissed OC but.....the QB!!!!!!
And HERE we are. Everything else is peripheral BS.
Additionally you don't do a mega extension to your SleepNumber in order to hand off more while talking about acquiring an impact receiver.

The contradiction makes no sense.
Well, it does cuz it's Jerry validating his stepson Dak's money again but in the meantime let's dedicate the offseason talk to running the ball more effectively.

Some can see right through this crap.
Others cling to false hope.
I'm the former.

Post of the day so far.
Too bad many will not accept this as the correct answer.
They only want to call MM names and complain about the universe.

I remember many comments about that play, why not run at that point.
Why then did Dak not throw the bad pass? Only the Magic 8 ball knows what if questions.

so fat mike is just running his mouth about running more, and it wasn't dak fault he threw more ints In fewer games than anybody else in the NFL.
what a joke team. Keep blaming others fat mike and jerry. smh
True. Embarrassing that so many other people are being thrown under the bus to cover up the real problem - Dak Prescott. An overpaid gash QB that has been a progress stopper.

The OC that had Dallas ranked 6th in rush attempts in 2022 but fat Mike said he just wants to run the ball? The OC that elevated Dallas to a top-tier offense in 2021 and 2022 in spite of people complaining Dak had no weapons in 2022? Yes, that OC.

When you control the clock, and have more short passing plays, and those 20 unsuccessful runs into the stacked box. An offense will run more plays, hence the higher number of runs and passes.
MM, again, depending ones agenda, was taken out of context. He could very well mean, run the ball more effectively, not the total numbers itself.
