What’s wrong with Parsons?

After this season ends very early yet again- we are going to find out he's been dealing with a big injury. I forget what game he was limping off the field and he's not been the same guy since then. he has bursts, moments here and there - but he's not that impact guy he was on every down.

Forget LB. Forget DE

He is an OLB in a 3-4 scheme where he would not be exposed to as much punishment.

We are wasting his career. This is a once in a generation player that the whole scheme should be built around.
Wheres Wade Phillips when we need him. Bring back the 3-4.

The malaise that is the Dallas organization set in quick with him.

Koolaid and oversized hats abound he's fallen prey to Jones Co.

He looks lackadaisical and frankly he’s just not making enough plays anymore. I don’t want to hear injury excuses 100% of players are dealing with something. He doesn’t have the same burst, power, intensity. Thoughts on his regression?
he is worn out. he is a LB, forced to play too many snaps at DE, against 320lb tackles and guards. he looks dinged up. they need to rest him these past three weeks and prep for playoffs.

As well as limiting impact on Parsons, a 3-4 scheme would also help improve the run DEF with the correct personnel.

Playing full time DE and he gets beaten up
Playing LB and you don't get the best out of him

A 3-4 OLB is the best of both

I noticed lately that he no longer generates the power that he did earlier and he is a half step slower. Early in the year he was actually bull rushing some of these tackles somehow. Those plays are over. PS. He needs to only be brought in to play D line during obvious pass rush situations and then moved all around. He has been playing mostly RDE and he shouldn't be there as he his playing against a left tackle who is normally the best lineman on the other team.

Armstrong hasn't done much since a great start either. Is Fowler still on this team, haven't noticed him in weeks

Armstrong has been injured. He needs a fews weeks off. But the bigger problem is that teams are just game planning around the pass rush by running the ball and doing those quick dump off throws. The tape has caught up to Quinns scheme that was working so well the first 10 weeks. We see a lot more teams running at us and that wears down the defense. Now we have injuries piling up on top of everything. Last week we saw a lot run/pass option plays from Texans QB Jeff Driskel. Yesterday we went up against a very mobile QB with an elite arm. What Trevor Lawrence did to us with as little talent as that team has at skill positions was just a great individual effort very few QBs in the league can replicate.

But the defense is good enough to keep us in the game. What we can't have is our QB turning the ball over and giving away games.

Parson's set his bar so high, a pretty good game for most is a disappointment. I'd worry a lot more about the other linebackers. Clark is green, Barr is showing why he was out of work, and LVE's neck is hopefully ok. 7.1 yards a rush allowed. Yikes.

He's going to be on the list of players that wasted their NFL careers in Dallas and never gets a SB unless he leaves. Just imagine this guy on a team like Philly, Buffalo, KC, or even New England where they have real coaches and owners that know their place. The drama in Dallas does not help either...

Team size in NFL is to small. Need larger teams to spread the pain out. Really damaging when players have to pound 75 plays and no one there to give a break.

At some point one of the other 10 people playing on D might need to step up a bit and help him out. I know what y'all are saying, but the guy can't do it all himself.
Exactly. The jags had 2 tackles out at some point yesterday and no one else was making plays. D law, osa, no body. Losing Armstrong and Hankins is killer. Add in lve and it was a shell of a defense with an already suspect corner who got benched for nashon.

It's the Cowboys, they expect one guy to be a savior while everyone else watches. They are slowly ruining Parsons.

If it hasn't been pointed out already, the RPO/read option is being used to counter the Cowboy's DE's pass rush first, mentality. In person, Parsons still looks quick and powerful but is being stonewalled by tackles who outweigh him by 100 lbs. Definitely is getting worn down as he has said this himself.
Quinn just doesn't seem to be able to change his scheme's.

Give him a break, he's had a rough go of it on the social media lately.

He’s a LBr that’s a good pass rusher and the Cowboys are trying to make him a DE.

He’s too small and it’s probably
taking a toll on him. Actually, I know it is because he just said it in an interview with Miller.

he’s getting worn down… he’s getting chipped and doubled etc as well.

Have him rush the passer only on third downs. I don’t get why Quinn has him doing it every play.

He’s athletic enough to do everything. Put him at lb more you can still send him.

my guess is this week against the eagles he’s playing more lb (spy) anyway
