Gonna pick 6 guys I found impressive:

1. Glover
2. Ellis
3. Newman
4. Ware
5-6 Patrick Crayton
5-6 Drew Bledsoe

And with all due respect to AdamJT, I don't see how Ware could have exceeded expectations, as those expectations ("another Lawrence Taylor") were astronomical.

I expected Ware's adjustment to his position and the NFL to take longer, and for him to struggle until then, especially against the run (which really hasn't been the case since the first half of the first game). I didn't expect him to get double-digit sacks this season, but he'll have five at the halfway point if he gets one Sunday. I didn't expect teams to adjust their offenses to account for him this soon, but they have. And I think those "LT" comparisons were more for the future than for this season. If he was playing like this in December, I might have expected it. But not this early.

Based on need, I'd take Leftwich and possibly Gross over him. An argument could also be made for taking Williams over him. That being said, I'm very happy with how he's playing. I think some people just don't like the idea of taking a CB in the top-5.

Petitti - I think MANY are taking him for granted - outstanding job by this rookie. He'll have his growing pains, but this is a success stiry in the making that many are, like I said, taking for granted.
I actually feel it's the opposite. Many are paying extra attention to him giving the family connection to this board. That's not to diminish what he's done but I hardly think he's being taken for granted.

Leftwich has been an average QB at best...Gross has been pretty average...Kevin Williams is a nice player and certainly a probowl talent, but Newman was a pro bowl alternate his 1st yr and is arguably playing b etter than any CB in the league this yr

there's no way I'd take any of those players above him

Leftwich has a lot of potential at the games most important position and Gross played very well on the right side. Again, I'm happy with Newman, but I hardly would have been disappointed with either of those guys or Williams.

I like Leftwich but I will say every time I see him play he seems to be dealing with an injury. I hate to say it but I don't see him playing too much longer

You've got to be out of your mind.

To me, Terrance Newman is the team MVP.

Who's beaten him?

All of the receivers have caught balls in front of him and his tackling has been great.

Did you actually see him play any time this season?

Terrance ran down Randy Moss from behind after Moss burned Davis in the middle of the field!!! Could have been the play of the game if Dallas would have pulled out a win in Oakland. I guess that doesn't count though.

The hatred towards Newman has to be brought on due to the fact that Dallas didn't pick the player they wanted in the draft.

Newman is having the best season of anyone on this team this season.

Since this was a generic question, here's my "most impressed players list" ...

McNabb: Sport hernia, hamstring, and media badgering (the soap opera), he's still managing to get the ball to receivers and win games (4-2)

Akers: Mr Cojones ...while suffering a hamstring spasm successfully kicked the "winning" field.

T.O.: No one believed that anyone could have a bigger mouth than FredX ...T.O. proved them all wrong! Seriously, he seems to have settled down to catching passes and communicating well with his QB.

Westbrook: Still looking for the big pay check, he's all about business and scoring touchdowns for the Eagles.

Jerome McDougle: Shot in the stomach by would-be robbers, he continues to fight back by an aggressive rehaBilitatIon progrAam -- I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing sometime this year.

yep i agree newman always gets hate because of one bad year last year, but the truth is the rest of the defense was so bad there was no way Newman would look good. so far hes arguably our best player on D.
The player most wanted was Suggs or Leftwich, in my case Leftwich. That doesnt mean im clouded in judgment like some people.

Leftwich hasnt impressed me much at all...his stats have been underwhelming, Jacksonville struggles to score and he has a long, deliberate windup type delivery...he has hardly been the next Dan Marino, as many hyped him up to be

I dont know where your getting the Gross stuff, he's been pretty well documented as a disappointment at best...was not worth anywhere near the draft pick and money they used on him

I think the hate on Newman, is because they hated on him last year, and don't really want to digress and say that Newman is worth now, what we invested in him, he was drafted 5th overall, to be our premier CB, and now he is, there's no such thing as a shut-down corner anymore, but he's as close to that as one can get

3. Ware
4. Henry
5. shanle/james (lately)

The problem with the list is no Offensive Lineman.....
