It starts with better coaching, we should have won the game by 10-14 pts with the defense that showed up tonight. 1st and 10...shot gun formation... ladies and gentleman your Cardiac Cowboys!.....It gets old losing the same exact way. It doesn't matter who the QB is, Garrett put Orton in the same position he puts Romo in all the time. Make one big mistake and you lose. The real choker is Jason Garrett and his puppet is Bill Callahan.

Kelly was a drive away from staying at home. He inherited an All Pro RB and LT. Foles 2nd half season play was a bonus. Wait and judge him next year when people have better tape and he has a first place schedule.

Our LT is as close as one can be to being an all pro without it being done.

And if our running back was TURNED LOOSE he would receive plenty of all pro votes.

And we certainly have a qb who exhibits all pro qualities.

I cannot understand our propensity for denigrating teams, players and in this instance a coach who has just out coached us.

chip kelly did something in his first year that the idiot you are a fan boy of has not done in 3.5 years

if the division is so unimpressive why couldnt the savior get his team over the hump?

wake up and stop with the usual excuses

Not sure where you got that I was a fan boy of:rolleyes:. Anyway my point is let's wait before we start anointing someone as good after 1 season. I remember threads about the Skins at this time last year and Tony Sparano his 1st year in Miami and on and on. Kelly had a nice first year but let's wait and see what he does going forward. You people love to jump on the bandwagon as soon as you can.

His team was the healthiest team in the league. Make sure you note that when you talk about his success.

If the Cowboys would've won, all the sourpusses would've been saying "Oh big deal, we won the worst division in football. NO is going to pound us again." Instead it's "Chip Kelly is a genius. He won the division." Bottom line is their players made more plays than ours did.Let the personal attacks and homer cires commence.

you are always in here defending every idiotic move made by jerry and jason

if what kelly did in his first year is so unimpressive, how can you defend a HC that has not even done that much in 3.5 years?

Im not impressed - He almost lost a game to a backup qb that hasn't played in three years.

He brought a new offense, has like all of his starters, caught about every break he could want through the season playing against backup QBs...

Last year everyone said the same stuff about rg3 and now look where the Washington team is at. Its a little soon to break out the anointing oil, as has been said here before.

I don't know your aunt well enough to comment on that, but the outcome of the game should not obscure a big coaching mistake like that, thats the point.

I know hind sigh is 20-20 but I honestly wouldn't be too upset if the Red Headed Trainee made that call fairly early at the goal line on 4th and inches in a win or go home game. Even if you don't get it, Dallas has to go 99 1/2 yards with a back-up QB. It wasn't as bad a call as you make it seem.

States the absolute OBVIOUS and calls them sourpusses for it. Brilliant. By all means,,,,,commence with the personal attacks.

Who said Kelly was a genius?

Their players made more plays than Dallas did? NO way!!!

Weren't people in here before the season started saying Kelly was overrated and that PHI's new O was a gimmick destined to fail?

Yes they were but those comments should not have been made. Zoners are much better in hindsight. It's part of what makes this place awesome.

He's a great offensive coach. I'm so impressed with him. I'm convinced he ran the ball so much tonight because he knew Foles was semi-choking. And he still won the game.

Chip always runs the ball

Not speaking for CL, but I think he's referring to Chip Kelly understanding the flow of the game and adequately making the adjustment, something we sorely lack. Foles was imploding and Kelly protected his young QB by handing the ball off until they got the TD.

Not 99.5 yards. You just need to get into FG range with the backup QB. Something we'd already demonstrated we were capable of doing. That's the point. You kick that FG, and the. We need the td to win, something we were struggling to do once we got into the red zone.

I did and absolutely believed his offense would never work in the NFL. But at what point do results matter? I was wrong and admit as much. Chip Kelly has earned some respect.

I did some SUPER wishful thinking. Taking into account murray's ypc stat which was about 5.2 or .1 better than mccoy and adding additional carries he should have had, about 50 more, with him keeping his ypc average murray finishes with 1,384 yards which would have put him at #2 in the league instead of #10. Murray had the least amount of carries of any running back in the top 10. He was also tied for 6th in rushing touchdown with 9.

Back to the topic. I think Kelly benefited from having a solid team to work with. The offense was already solid and it was the right system for Foles. You cant argue with 27 td to 2 interceptions. I feel that the Eagles players bought in to Kelly wholeheartedly whereas the Cowboys don't really have full confidence in Garrett as a leader of men. If a coach can get a team to buy into what he wants them to do 100% the end result should be a team playing hard, making plays, which should mean wins. Less mental mistakes when it counts.

Right, that is what I meant. Obviously McCoy is a great back and Kelly isn't going to ignore him. But Foles started to pucker up as the game went on (which earlier he wasn't doing, but he got tight as the game went on) and Kelly was smart enough to see that and shift to much more running to protect his young QB. A couple of those drives late in the game were almost exclusively running, which is pretty rare in this day.

Our D had been putrid most of the season and we're playing our back-up QB. it was a lower risk move than you're making it out to be. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'd have no objection to going for it.
