he made a statement and is spot on at many levels.

He has and will catch a lot of slack from those that acted as he called out....

I can't believe I'm writing this, but thanks Nors for watching my back.

Well, I don't know about this or any Cowboys forums/boards... I try not to come on here AT ALL during a game - I am just too into the game to worry about what people are saying on here.

I will say this, in the bar that I frequent to watch my Cowboys play A LOT of the Cowboy fans that were there through 3.5 quarters or so LEFT before the game ended. This was very discouraging to me.

I stay until the END, good or bad. I was pretty upset and pissed off about our showing on MNF, but a TRUE fan ALWAYS has hope. I don't even WANT this hope, it is just IN me... I know that it will only upset me more, but I just can't help it.

Basically, it ALL pays off when the game turns out like our did on Monday Night... I mean I was running and cheering down the aisles in my bar with only 1 other Cowboy fan that also stayed until the END.

I almost had about 3 heart attacks in the final 4 minutes, but as long as I don't die from these games, the excitement, highs and lows are all worth it.

GO COWBOYS!!!

I guess I don't "get" the whole leave the game on/turn it off stuff. This is entertainment... that's all it is. You won't lose your birthday over it... it won't feed starving kids in China. It is what it is. Too take it more seriously than it needs to be... well, that's sorta sad really.

My point Mikey is just this. Many people spend hours upon hours on this board during the week, more hours than one Dallas Cowboys football game even lasts. If your going to devote that much time to the teams message board you'd expect fans to at least watch the whole game and not turn off the TV and go crying to bed when they're not playing well. It's not like it was 44-0, it was a two possession game. I just found that odd. It just reminds me how little kids act if they don't get their own way. And most people who are disagreeing with me, except you, Hos and a few others are the people who were acting just like I described in my first post.

LOL!

I think Glenn means well, I do.

I admire his and other's passion for this team. I really do. I remember when I was younger (2 or 3 years ago! LOL!) I'd cry when the Cowboys lost but I've gotten over that because I've come to realize that no matter if they won or lost that I wasn't getting a check in the mail, they weren't paying any of my bills and it really wasn't improving my lifestyle or the lifestyle of my family... it really wasn't. So I started to focus less on sports and started focusing more on improving myself and my overall lot in life. And while I haven't cut down on my NFL viewing I have cut back drastically on all the other sports including college football. And honestly I know my income has grown considerably from it and my family has reaped the benefits without the stress of me "stressing" over if my team won or last last night.

And in the process I think I've become a much well-rounded individual.

It's hard to tell if you agree with what I'm saying or not. BTW, back in the day, I cried on more than one occassion after a Cowboys loss. Anyhow, I understand your point about it being just a game and you could use that argument on both sides of this debate. It's just a game so why make stupid knee jerk reactions on each and every play that this player is great after a great play and the same player should be cut after a bad play and so on? And then you could also say, it's just a game so why should somebody care about how other people react watching a football game? I really don't care and was just making a statement with my initial post. I wasn't saying I'm better than these people or anything like that.

what a disgusting, pompous, Michael Moore-type post.
so sorry that everyone isn't more like you. Please teach us all how to be "real fans." And excuse us for getting emotional and frustrated by poor play from the team whose colors bleed from our veins.

I watched the game, start to finish, but my heart was being ripped out for 3 1/2 quarters. It was tough to deal with.
maybe oneday I can aspire to be the fan that you are though, more disconnected.

Typical reaction from someone who I perfectly described with my first post and who also happens to be a Republican. I never called for everyone to be more like me. I just said it was idiotic for "fans" to act the way I described. I obviously struck a chord with you because you were acting that way during the game. Find where I said you can't get emotional and frustrated during the games? Help me with that, becasue I don't think I said that. I did say that people that act like idiots during the games are annoying, but not that you can't be upset or frustrated or emotional.

Well at least one of us has something insightful to say instead of nothing but negativity no matter what.

Hey I can be positive.

For example... when they showed the grass stains on the back of Bledsoe's jersey from being sacked all night, I noticed that one of them was shaped like the virgin mary. At that point I knew god was on our side and I knew that anyone who decided to turn off the TV before the game was over would be banished to hell for all eternity. It was a very spiritual moment for me.

No they wouldn't be banished to hell, they'd just be called out by the "holier than thou" Glenn Carano on a message board as embarrassing, idiotic and "so called fans".

I know this is going to make you faint but I just don't see it that way at all.

Side A calls out Side B as to whether they are actually devoted to the team. I don't expect Side B to silently take it.

The reason Side B is being called out has everything to do with what they post. How do they defend themselves without this?

Both sides are guilty...that is my point.

People did not even bother to read the points he was making...they just took it as him bashing ANYONE that questions the team.

But in doing so then he gets told....Hey we can question the team, we can express our opinions...who are you to say we can't....when he is just questioning and expressing his opinons as well.

One could argue people will see it differently, only if they are on one side of the fence or the other.

Should there be a rule that when a thread reaches 10 pages because of two sides going back and forth that the forum mods, by operation of the rule of law, declare a truce and the two sides shake hands, then leave the forum and the issue peacefully?

Maybe it might save some bandwidth. :D

It's all interpretation. I am saying neither side is "guilty."

I did read his points and I agree with them where they stay focused on how funny it is when people change opinions in mid stream. I do think people flip flop too much.

That doesn't change or excuse the accusatory tone which is what I focused on. I didn't say he couldn't question things. Not once, not ever. In fact I was glad he did because it gave me a chance to rant. I just think he went about it wrong.

I'm on his side of the fence but I don't agree with the anger towards the negativity. I'm amused by the negativity. He doesn't have to be.

Others are going to disagree with him completely.

That's life Brainy. That's why we love it so much and want to stick around.

So you are basically saying the same thing I am saying....only thing you see different is you don't agree with his anger towards negativity...but was it any worse or better then what he seen as negativity.

And if it is not any worse or better...then why state...

"In other words, no one should have an opinion or state it.
Sounds boring."

When he was doing just that...stating his opinion. :laugh2:
