What Are The Chances That Extension Talks With Dak Go Bad?

prescott and his agent really outsmarted the jones boys with previous contract.
Also they pushed too much $ to later years, and now are right where dak wants them to be. lol
Then on top of all that they didnt go all in for the 1st 2 years of that deal, and they had the wrong coaches, so it was going to fail regardless.
It is a comedy of errors with the jones boys, and why they have not got past the div round in 28 years and counting.
It is why I gave up on them years ago.
Yes. It took me some years to understand that these two are just bad at what they are doing. I am thru with them also.

I react cynical or sarcastic when i hear interviews with them. But i never take them serious.

Same with Prescott. He has a character that fits those two really well. Businessman. Thats all he is. Sells you a feel good story for your soul.
And you are right. The deal they gave him is one of the worst in their long career. I right now work - just for fun - on a offseason plan for us. Everytime i look at the contract it looks even worse.

But the contract is just a example of how the Joneses handle their own players. It was the same with Romo, DFlaw, Zeke and others. They dont plan longterm and the dont prepare to not be too dependend on a player. They are very bad at bad risk management.

This is a pretty standard restructure and extension.

Fans need to learn to recognize contract structure. This is just how stuff goes.

It is nothing. "Hey Dak, can we extend you two year and pay you in advance for the last two year of your current deal?" sort of a no-brainer, bro
I think people understand pretty well how a restructure functions.

What they criticize is that you gave him a contract where you are essentially forced to do it.
This is not about the player, its right now about the results of the resturcture for the franchise we have to deal with.

Fans are starting to realize Dak is going nowhere. It’s hilarious.
So it's hilarious for fans to realize Dak is going nowhere thereby that translates into the Cowboys going nowhere? I am glad you see a continued Super Bowl drought as hilarious so long as the Dak fan boys get their way.....as MC says: "Dak over Dallas" is your mantra.

They're not Cowboys fans at all.

They search for a player that splits the fanbase a little, they defend him at all costs, and use him to cause a stir among fans of the team. It just so happens that it's Dak for us. If it wasn't Dak it would be somebody else they would find to hitch their wagons to just to stir the pot.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they're part of other teams message boards and do the same thing with a player on that team.

They are just bored trolls.

Well, we're getting exactly what we deserve then.
Not quite but I do wish it was possible for this alternate reality to happen at the same time so you guys can experience the constant run of Zach Wilsons & Payton Lynchs that a lot of you pretend Dak is. While the rest of us can move forward with reality and meaningful/interesting discussions. Pretending Dak is garbage is no less ridiculous than pretending he's elite but by all means....gotta get them "likes" up!

I don't know how to tell you this, so I'm just going to come out and say it.

Dak is closer to Zack Wilson than he is Pat Mahomes. That star on his helmet doesn't add talent points to Dak.

Dak has a real opportunity to send a big message to his teammates and fans, and to exhibit some of this great "leadership" we keep hearing about, by working with the team on a reasonable restructure/extension which allows a little more pie sharing.

What's it going to be Dak? Are you a team guy, or a me guy?
Wierd that many fans still don’t know this. The moment he asked for a 4 year max contract it should have been crystal clear that he is a me guy

He’s always been a company man and talks a good game but he’s all about the money

Believe what I do not what I say

Lol. I don't know how to tell you this but no amount of disdain or frustration will alter actual reality. He's not elite. He's not trash. He's firmly in the 8-13 range. Pretending he's not is just as stupid as pretending he's elite.

The star on his helmet doesnt add talent points but it also doesnt take him away bc of fan's frustrations.

8-13 range lololololol

He's in the #1 range if we're talking INTs.

How about if he wants 50m a year?
Dak held this front office's feet to the fire last contract to extract every dime from Jerry that he could get.
Who's to say he wont do it again?
He had all the leverage because of Jerry's inability to GM. Had we been drafting, and grooming QB's consistently we would have had a significantly lower chance of being forced to pay him 50. If we simply re-tagged him it would have cost us $54,274,752. That's how we got here. This is 100% Jerry's fault.

Are you saying Jerry struggles as a GM ?
Are you sure?
I don't know about that !

Just cut him, he has no trade value and has even less value to the team.

Dak is the best QB in the league! If you put Dak on the Chiefs he would have won the MVP & Super Bowl MVP!

That's how ridiculous you guys sound in the other direction.

Nah,

We just say Dak will never lead the Cowboys to the Super Bowl because the talent required to make up for his lack of talent is just too much to overcome.

We're not as drastic as the ones that think Dak is in the top 10 range.

Waitasec. Need clarification.

IF there was an unlikely scenario of the team's talent level being elevated to 'good enough', would you then state Prescott could lead Dallas to a championship?

Probably not, unless Dak proves that he can stay in his lane.

Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer stayed in their lane and didn't try and be "the guy". They allowed the talent around them to flourish while they just managed the game.

Dak wants to be Mahomes right now and the Cowboys expect him to be Mahomes based on his pay rate.

So, as of right now, there's no amount of talent that can be put around Dak that he wouldn't find a way to fail with unless he takes a back seat.

Thanks. Your previous reply to @Retro88 would have been better presented as:

The range I gave is solid and the majority of the range is outside the top 10. Not believing in Dak doesn't change that range he falls in and pretending he falls very far out of that is exactly what I said previously. I know it's not as fun as saying ridiculous things for likes but it is what it is.
