What are your minimum expectations for 2021 season right now?

3 wins. We will have leaned the nuances of "tank mode" after failing at it the previous year.

I want to say win division...or make playoffs...

But why should I look at getting back to peak level under Garrett as a huge improvement just because they were so bad last year??

I need them as an organization to get themselves into a NFCCG.

This isn't a full rebuild that's still learning.

Its a vet team and anything less than more that was done under Garrett is not a successful season IMO.

we're weak at TE
we had problems all along the OL. unlike wine players dont improve with age
Zeke has been going through the motions since he signed the contract.
Dak is coming off an injury and has his money. We have no backup QB if he goes down again
we have lot of new players in secondary
Dlaw has 6.5 and 5 sacks last 2 years-this year wont be any better if Smith is gone.
we still have a massive hole at DT
LB's- Lee may be gone, who knows with LVE

only positives I see is WR and we are in NFC east. I do not see this as a 10 win team. 6-8 wins

Calling TE "weak" is a little much.

Id in fact call it a lower end strength.

My minimum can't be expressed just in a record. I want to see a defense improved to at least league average, around spot #16 or so. Then their record needs to be non-losing at 8 and 8 or 9 and 7. Asking for more than that would be asking a lot.

A better product on the field
If we do that the record will take care of itself
If our defense can be avg we will having a winning record

Well if they draft some good players, that is possible but unlikely. Starters for dallas dont get replaced easily, jerry likes his guys, and
the ones picked high or paid alot , will continue as starters.
However it could mean more rookies get playing time.

Show an ability to beat .500 or above teams outside of the division.

Let's say 2 wins over 2 decent teams with average to above defenses.

That is a good expectation, I will add that to mine as well.
To me teams with good defenses are the real test for dak, and if he is earning his $ or not.

Ok I know it is early, but I figure the draft will only give team 1 or 2 starters at most.
So what is the minimum season record you would accept as a step forward over last season?
I will say 10-7 , that would be a distinct improvement over last season.
Anything less I would have to consider a failure by coaches , FO , and players, and Dak.

Now 10-7 may get team into playoffs, and it may not, so I am not going to say they have to make playoffs,
but I do sort of expect that they should .
The thing is winning the division may be the only way a east team gets in playoffs, but one of the east teams
may have a good season, and do better than 10-7. You cant count on them being as bad as last season.

17th game 0-1 by this would put them at 10-7 , if 16 games then 10-6
Dallas would have to be real good team to do better than 10 wins.
I gave a loss on the last game as people here are saying it would be NE, and dallas has
always done poorly in the last game of season.
But that could be another win just as easily, if they are improved, so I could see 11 wins too.
So I will change that to 10 or 11 wins as my minimum expectation.

Anything over that would be more than I expect
And on further thought, I think making the playoffs , as WC or div champ has to be included, unless
one of the other east teams just has a great season, and dallas doesnt get in as WC.
10-11 wins should get dallas in as a WC though?

I see no reason why we can’t take it to the second round of the playoffs. That’s my expectations

No drama Elliotts happy Prescott is sign we’re going to fix the offense of line. Now if you can get a linebacker and a true nose tackle the defense should be a top 10 And we went from the worst special teams in the league so I think 15th overall

also about the draft, they rarely get impactful starters in the draft.
The # 10 pic could be one, but at what position?
and the rookie class probably wont make much of a difference.

last year everyone raved about lamb, but he did not really have a impact on winning games last year, some games like the giant game he contributed to the loss.
Conner williams, a # 1 pick has only had a negative impact lol.

But sure draft may change my expectations but not much.

that is what I am counting on, is a avg defense instead of a awful defense.
That should mean more wins, dak back more wins, but they need to be better overall especially in coaching and game mgmt.
