OK Fellas,

First game of the season is coming UP!

How do you plan on spending the first big Sunday of the year?

I am trying to find a good Recipe for Burgers?

Anyone have a good one that wants to share?

I am having freinds and family over.

What are you doing?
Grill the burgers in garlic butter with onions. Use the suateed onions instead of just regular sliced variety. Use real hamburger instead of pre-pressed variety. Add some Worchestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the meat.

Don't buy generic hamburger buns. Use a kaiser roll with poppy seeds or a sourdough dinner roll or some other form of bread for the buns.

Monterrey Jack, pepperjack, real swiss cheese, or some other kind of spicy cheese. No pre-processed slices and no cheddar. Got to give it a new flavor.

Instead of plain mustard use a deli mustard. It's worth the price for the new flavor they will experience.

Romaine lettuce.

Clausen dill slices instead of a generic pickle slice.

Good tomatos. Be picky.

Lastly if your guests like it, a splash of guacamole.

Good eats.

I guess I'm burned out...... I work on my uncles farm on Saturdays and he always wants KFC..... Their potatoes and gravy make a good mortar mix!

Curiosity is killing me!!! Why the duct tape?

If you don't already know, you never will. Sorry bout your luck. :p:

No, seriously, all jokes aside, I'm dead cereal...its for taping the beers to my hands when I can now longer hold them. You can even make a glass into a sippy cup if you've got a case of the spills. College students should take note...and its a sweet way to meet chicks. That stuff is awesome.

you just can't handle the 11 herbs and spices!

Get up early in the morning and have a pancake, bacon, and eggs breakfast. I will then put on an old Cowboys' replica, and go across the street to my neighbors' house...hiding in the bushes. When they come out to head to the...that's right, Commanders game against the Dolphins...I will run out and drill the male with a "flying tackle", ala 'Terry Tate' on the old Staples or Office Depot supplies commercial!! (Oh, and by the way, I went to high school with him back in '81-82)!! I will then return home, put on my Tony Dorsett authentic jersey, and get ready for 'NFL Countdown', and hopefully a Cowboys' victory later that night!!

That's funny... I hope this a tradition? in that you get to tackle a Commander fan every week?

The past few years, I've never gotten anything done on opening day, which is a problem (being a college student)... I'm really going to try to get things done during the day and take the evening off (hopefully the cowboys do the opposite) and watch some pre-game highlights around 6ish over some hot pizza and cold beer in order to prepare for a hopefully great night.

Yep. Pretty much my suggestion to anyone ever trying to cook a recipe and make it phenomenal is to use quality ingredients. I don't buy bread that isn't made in the bakery, for instance. The least process a food goes through, the better.

I will be at the game. It has been a long time since I have been to a Cowboys game and I can't wait to be there Sunday night! Oh, that reminds me, I need to ask off for Monday. Gonna need some recovery time :)

I'll probably just get some food, watch the Skins vs Dolphins (go Fins) and some of the Eagles vs. Packers (go Pack). Then after that I'll watch the SD vs. Chicago game and then get ready for the big game. And then I'm taking Monday morning off.

Will you be charting this game?

ok, so, i can't believe it! i'm going to the game!

I live in GA, but I'm from Dallas.
My sister just had my first nephew. I am going home, and turns out, they have an extra ticket.

So Sunday, I watch games and fantasy all day, then off to tailgate and cheer my *** off

Just me. I don't have no friends except Iceberg but he won't never come on over, so the heck with him

Beer (lots of it) and picadillo.

Picadillo:
2 lbs. of ground beef
1 can diced tomatoes
2 large jalapenos (thinly sliced)
1 medium size onion
cumin to taste
garlic power to taste
salt to taste
black pepper (lots of it)

Stir fry beef until well done
Add ALL the ingredients to the cast-iron skillet that is hotter than Catherine Bell
Wipe any residue on your shirt, it don't matter

Serve onto hot (flour) tortillas with guacamole, and lettuce and fresh tomato if you so desire

Tell the sweetie you love her and you love that low-cut blouse but to shut up during the game.
If the Cowboys win, reward her with a Wal-mart gift certificate.

I love these threads, and if someone wants to go ahead and start a game day recipe thread, count me in. I'm always looking for tailgate and game day recipes.

Here's my Sunday (every Sunday the Cowboys' play)

6AM: Wake up early because I can't sleep.

7AM: Kids are up, everyone gets their jerseys on and gets ready to go. Even the wife. We'll probably go with the blue jerseys this week.

8AM: Head to my parents' house for a huge family breakfast, pancakes, sausage, eggs, home fries, etc. If breakfast is at home I mash blueberries into the pancakes to make them blue, but I have Eagles' fans in my family, so that's a non-starter at my parents' house.

9AM: Throw the football around the backyard with my son, read the Sunday sports section, and usually argue with my brothers about the game.

10AM: Go home, start marinating the buffalo wings (just salt, pepper, cayenne and olive oil)

11AM: Watch the Sunday morning football shows, set my fantasy football lineup

12 noon: Put the wings on the grill, pick the games I'm going to watch (three TV's in my home theatre room), make sure the beer is chilled.

1PM until I crash: Watching football with the kids, eating and drinking until I can't move, talking trash on IM with buddies (yeah, I'm a bit of a sports nerd), checking scores to see if I won my $1 football pool
