What Chicago's farce of a win means.

Wow - don't know if anyone saw Denny Green's press conference. It pretty much put Jim Mora's 'playoffs' to shame.

New soundbite for the next 5 years.

A win is a win. If we had a young QB have the worst game of his career, a dominating defensive performance and a great special teams play I would be pretty satisfied.

Hmmmm....maybe you forgot this little nugget that you posted yesterday:

Thats pretty much how I feel. Beating the Texans isnt an accomplishment.

Guess what? While our QB isn't all that young, he DIDN'T have one of the worst games of his career, our defense WAS dominant, and our special teams were oustanding. Were you satisfied? Apparently not.

We soundly beat a team with 1 win. The bears were handed a game by a team with one win, and won by 1 point. You're a pessimist and a hypocrite.

A win is a win huh?

A comeback that huge in such a little amount of time is damned impressive. Clearly Leinart outplayed Carr, and Edge got more yards than the Texans crap RB's and the Cardinals defense played well. Unlike the Texans defense which got bent over left and right. Different situations entirely.

Simply, they are not the heads and shoulders above the rest of the conference as much as ESPN will spin it.

They are beatable. any team that has a pulse wins the game tonight.

a healthy Seattle team can beat them.

So can:
Dallas
Philly
NYFG
CAR

The lesson learned today boys and girls is that this conference is still wide open and the Boys have as good a shot as anybody.

Of course, if this were the Cowboys many homers here would be saying that we're a team of destiny because we can mess up for 58 minutes and then win a game in the last minutes.

The Bears are the class of the NFC.

Just because they had a down game doesn't mean they aren't. They won that game despite getting nothing from their offense.

Don't think the Cowboys defense could do that.

Isn't that the story of Dallas in 2005?

*Sigh* I can see there is no sense discussing this any further. You can have the team that relies on a "damned impressive" comeback (that was the result of the other team choking), and I'll take the team that goes out and whips the 1-4 team's arse.

But you clearly dont realize the difference in talent at the skill positions of the 1-4 teams.

I agree. Their defense was really good again tonight. I will say the Cardinals, IMO, settled for the FG too much in the first half tonight. They were given turnover after turnover in the Bears redzone and didn't attack the endzone. And it cost them.

To the Bears credit, they hung in there and seized opportunity.

Dunno about this "implosion" thing I read earlier. Sure, Chicago could fall off. Anyone can in the NFL. But when you play defense like they do, they're going to be in just about every game they play. And their special teams have been stellar as well. Duh.

Enough of a talent disparity to make up the 27 point difference in our win margins? I don't see vegas buying those lines.

I'm not even saying we're better than the Bears. I'm just saying they're not nearly as good as you guys give them credit for.

LOL. I just saw the Denny Green presser...Apparently he agrees with me.

Again, bad night. No doubt they were bad offensively, but 6-0 is still very impressive. Anyone recall the last time we won six straight?

BTW, the Bears have outscored their opposition by 20 pts per game this year. The average score of their games is 30-10. I'd say more times than not they're putting the hurt on people.

We will all know one way or the other about the Bears after their 3 week East Coast road trip. NYG,NYJ and New England in the space of 3 weeks on the road. Fortunately for them, they get the bye week at the perfect time, and get the 9ers to destroy after the bye.

Haha. Just saw Denny's meltdown. Can't say that I blame him. They did let Chicago off the hook. But I think some of that is his fault.

Nice link.

Awful soreloserish, but it was nice to hear what his choice of profanities was.

just a little bit. he didn't give up the punt return or make edge fumble. the 2 straight runs on the last drive are questionable when the pass was working.

I don't think he was being a sore loser. he was being honest, and telling the truth. everyone has been gushing on the bears and bspn would would have you believe that they are better than the 85 bears. The freaking Cards pretty much proved that they aren't head and shoulders above the rest of the NFC. They got lucky.

Denny Green and Art Shell's hotdog stand, coming to a street corner near you.

A win is a win. They are 6-0 and their schedule is largely a cake walk for the rest of the season. Good teams find ways to win games like this.

If we had won a game like that I guarantee you would be claiming it was meaningless because we barely beat a craphead team.

Don't bother, I've already tried that approach.
