This idiot telling the cop not throw her around? What is he to do ask nicely? The girl is not going to get cuffed willingly and that cop could have been allot rougher with her than he did.

Everything that led up to the altercation wasn't on video. He may not have handled the situation right from the very beginning. He may have touched her or used a racial slur to set her off all I know is the video shows he made no attempts to subdue any of those women before throwing that punch.

He could have equally done nothing too to provoke them other than "annoying" them, by stopping them for jaywalking.

It's quite possible that these 2 were know-it-all teenagers with an attitude, just as well as the cop could have been a racist.

I bet you there are a greater percentage of 17 year olds with a bad attitude and no respect for cops whatsoever to racist cops who abuse the law.

Some think because these guys carry a badge they can do whatever they want. You have cops who speed around when there's no emergencies. Run red lights just because they don't feel like waiting. I don't have anything against cops but there are some bad ones out there who take advantage of their position. A cop has to be pretty stupid to punch a woman in the face in front of a group of people and think it's not going to lead to a firestorm of controversy.

Some may believe that, but there are others who believe that there are a lot of responsibilities given to cops by society, because we recognize that their job is tough, and often times dangerous. Such as using physical force to subdue a physical, and unruly subject.

Now granted, a punch is way above and beyond the responsibilities that we entrust cops with.

There was alot he could have done but he chose to end it quick by punching her in the face.

Such as? His only recourse was to mace her (which he probably should have done once she pushed him away, just went and grabbed the mace, and sprayed her), taken her down, or just walked away (which will never, and never should happen). So take the impossible out of it, and there were just 2 things he could have done.

And you have to think of the split second it would take for him the grab the mace, giving the 2 a chance to flee the scene, and then it becomes a chase.

His abrasive approach from the time he tried to ticket them for jaywalking is probably what led to that outcome. We'll just have to see how it all turns out for him I know one thing that girl has probably already contacted a lawyer.

Quit assuming since because the girls were unruly that they must have been provoked by an angry, abrasive, racist cop. You didn't see any of that.

What the tape clearly shows before the hay-maker were 2 unruly girls with an attitude and whom one assaulted the police officer.
