What do you see with the OL roster?

I see an OL with very little wiggle room in depth. Those that think the OL has depth are putting their faith in players that have never played at this level, like Waletzko.

Until one of the youngsters proves himself, this OL is on thin ice.
Nailed it!!

My question on Ball is although he has an attitude he brings to work, does he keep it additionally focused on results also.
Balls feet are way too slow. He is hopeless as a legit starter.

Who do you see?

I see Smith, Smith, Badass, Martin, Steele, Waletzko, Farniok, Edoga, Richards, with Bostick and Bass on the PS.

Your picks?
Your starters are just way better than the backups.
The real question all offseason was whether one of Smith, Smith, or Steele wouldn't start.
For me it was never a question that made any sense. My answer was always NO. But even the team played along with the possibility.
Like the starters a lot. But after the starters, UGH.

The Cowboys are an excellent drafting team. One of the best in the game today. That's why they have won 25 games in the last 2 years and are a contender this year.
Never said they wasn’t but they do throw in a Head scratcher now and then

Wouldn’t be the CZ without panic! And bacon farts…
Not so much panic and more fear of the unknown, at this point. It all changes when Smith gets hurt. Then what? That's all. Same as last season and before.

Apples and oranges. But whatever.
Every team does. Not exclusive to the Dallas Cowboys.
Context kind sir context. that response went with the conversation of drafting Taco over watt and there being knee concerns. I believe that if your concernd about a knee with a generational talent such as Watt then you should have been with a player that suffered the type of injury that Jaylon did. Its also contexual to the conversation of how good the organization is at drafting and whether there decision making is always beneficial to the team

I agree that they are much better now than they were early 2000s Mcclay has done a good job. But some of the moves have been damaging to the organization. One being drafting Smith in the second another being taking a RB at #4 when there were better options. And yes I do question the drafting of Schoonamaker where they did a round too soon at least when TE on the surface was not as glaring of a need as OL.

Now maybe they have a boatload of faith in the backups and I may end up being wrong but take it to the bank Tyron will be hurt again and they are going to have to shuffle things and steele is a ? mark to begin season.

There was no info coming from the Cowboys about being worried about Watt's knee or being red flagged. Their excuse was that even though he was rated higher than Taco that Marinelli was unsure Watt could put his hand on the ground. Scouts believed he could but Marinelli said that there wasn't any tape showing he could. Marinelli was always trying to find a project that he could polish up and he was just bad doing it.

Initially on paper .. yes.

But what if Bass impresses so much that the club could not risk exposing him to the practice squad ?

Then it would come down to performances of other players such as Chumba or Richards ..or cutting a player at other positions to fit Bass.

100%

Our starting 5 is really good and IMO top 3ish in the league. Our depth is a huge question mark

Apparently Marinelli had no problem with Cowboys drafting a 237 pound Randy Gregory and putting his hand down in the dirt in his 4-3 scheme

but yet Marinelli had an issue with a 252 lb. TJ Watt putting his hand down in the ground in his 4-3 scheme ?

Check out what the other 31 teams do and compare.
I know this but i dont root for the other 31. I root for the cowboys and as of late (27 years) I have legitimate right to question some of their choices. Especially when they have ignored glaring needs over and over and we are as close as we are.

I do however think they are good drafting team
