Twitter: What does Eberflus credit for the defensive turnaround?

What a pile of BS.

Think about this, add this to any D:

1. Top 3 DT
2. Top 5 LB
3. Top 5 CB
4. Quality slot CB
5. Solid MLB
6. Solid NT.

That's 6 new starters. 6. Over half the D has been replaced. But it's all about consistency and continuity. Eber, if you're going to say something this dumb, just STHU.

6 new players = continuity?

This defense needs to play like they have the past three weeks for the next five weeks, and then I will be sold on Eberflus.

Maybe the players just needed time to learn a third scheme in three years. Add that to the talent that arrived in November and the results speak for themselves.

So far, that is.

If we lose to the Cheifs y'all are blaming the defense for giving up 28 points.

But because we won the defense is fixed.
This is sadly pretty true....Granted part of that was the early turnover which gave KC a short field, but the defense has been so bad the last year plus that expectations have been lowered for this unit. LV is horrible. Philly they played a really good half of football and we are quick to forget about the other half. They're trending the right way, but this board is still one bad game away from having a 50+ page fire eberflus thread back at the top.

I know it's unpopular to say anything positive about our safeties, but it's worth noting that Hooker and Wilson were both injured during the worst stretch of the season, including the Broncos and Cardinals debacles.

I'm not saying those two are great players, but we missed them when they were out. Sanborn also went onto IR right before the Denver game. Again, I realize Sanborn isn't an ideal starting LB, but when you lose both safeties and your middle LB around the same time, that's losing the heart of defensive communication. The defense was incapable of working as a unit. Those who dismiss the impact of these losses—all at the same time—don't understand the importance of communication on defense.

Well that's how you get a top defense along with good coaching

I mean I hear ya Thunder but at some point credit the opponent while also crediting our dee. If for this specific game only.

Everybody ain't Mahomes. All those spins and escape jobs and mobile on the run accurate downfield throws while outside the tackle box ain't in all other opponent QB DNA.

What Im saying is we had several of those so called pressures and almost sacks that you talk about pretty frequently here that are probably sacks with about 29 other QBs.

Mahomes is elite.
We gave up 28 but the dee was and is very much improved as well.

Hope the dee continues to improve.
